School Fees

With these costs, it seems like it's better to not have kids and instead drive a Lambo in my 40s.

We don't know actual figures but from looking at some web sites, it is safe to add 1200 to 1500 rands per month for extra-mural activities.

Lol - first kid private and rest guava-mint?
Lol, we choose pvt schooling for high school. Btw, all 3 kids will / have attend pre-high school education at a guava-mint school. We are fortunate to have excellent, govt pre-high school education in our part of SA.

Yep. This thread confirms I'll revert back to using domes despite the SO being on the pill thanks.

The problem often is that you can't get your kid's into the good private high schools in grade 8 unless they attended one of the 'preferred' feeder schools which are also private schools.

That's one of the reasons we started private school from pre-primary.

Even government schools favour kids who attended good private primary schools when filling applications for high school. It's not right but that's how it is.

My 2 yr old turning 3 next year is starting Creche which is going to cost about 1K pm and i have already paid paid R650 for registration.
