School Fees

Well done on paying school fees equivalent to salary of many.
Not me. I don't nett much more than that after the ANC has taken it's lunch money off my salary. I pay R84K pa (half boarding, half fees) for Grade 8 at another school. The government is kind enough subsidise us whole R140 a year.

You do get private schools close to that, a few Curros, Sparks and PLG schools. Public high schools especially good ones do have a sudden jump on pricing.

TBH, I know Curro and co are private but I would tag them more like the Model C schools.

I kind of look at it more like

Public Schools
Model C (Semi-Private) and places like Curro
Private Schools (like MichaelHouse, Thomas More and those sorts)

Its more of a cost bracket type of thing... Curro and the Model C schools are in roughly the same sort of bracket cost wise...

One kid in Grade 5 at a Primary School near the CBD (CPT) - R18500 p/a paid over 10 months (Feb to Nov).
One kid in grade 8 at a high school close to CBD -R35200 p/a paid over 10 months (Jan to Oct).

Very happy with both schools.

Hey guys,

do you mind sharing what you are paying in school fees. School name , public or private, and cost per child per year.

I am sourcing from various places and will share the ultimate results with everyone.

Thanks
