Pietermaritzburg - Video footage showing a boy being stabbed to death at a KwaZulu-Natal school has gone viral, it was reported on Wednesday.

The footage shows 18-year-old Bongani Nkabinde in a fight with several other pupils at a school in northern KwaZulu-Natal, Eyewitness News reported.

The incident happened on Monday and seven youngsters have been arrested.

Police said a number of weapons had been found at the scene including knobkerries and sticks.

A number of violent incidents at school across the country have been reported recently including in Cape Town, Johannesburg and the Eastern Cape.

Once again I blame the ANC for creating and fostering this culture of lawlessness.
 
Is this a new phenomenon or are we only made aware of this sort of thing now? I remember school fights happened often but murder was never the intention. It was a 'Who's the boss?' sort of fight and klaar. This is insanity man, can't be normal behaviour even for testorone driven 18 year olds.

As do I - I've been forced to accept that SA is no longer an appropriate place to raise my kids, the only problem is the missus who isn't ready to accept it yet.

VIOLENCE AT SCHOOLS
A number of violent incidents have been recorded at South African schools in recent months.

Earlier this month, a group of pupils from Pretoria West High School arrived at Hoërskool Langenhoven armed with pangas, knives and axes.

They were apparently looking to settle a score.
During the fight, one boys was attacked with a panga, which sliced off most of his ear while three others were also injured.

In another incident this month, a grade 11 boy from the Kgothalang Secondary School in Bekkersdal was stabbed to death by a fellow pupil at the school.
In a separate incident, a 14-year-old Jim Fouche Primary School pupil allegedly assaulted his 41-year-old female teacher in the face at the Johannesburg school after he was asked to take off his jersey because it was not part of the school uniform.

In September, a Glenvista High School pupil assaulted his teacher with a chair and broom while his classmates filmed the attack.

In total, 15 pupils were suspended at the Johannesburg south school.

The boy and his classmates face disciplinary hearings.

Shortly after the video went viral, a Sasolburg High School teacher was allegedly shot in the leg by a 15-year-old boy who brought a gun to school.

How is it the Daily Sun gets hold of all this ****ed up ****?!

SA Schools are becoming more and more dangerous by the day!! Kids are suppose to be going to school to learn not stab people to death!! :cry:

Same here. Fights at school were just fists and slaps here and there. Not knifes and other dangerous weapons.

I wish we had a fully operational government to deal with this ****! :(

This kind of thing has been going on for ages. It's only now being noticed by the press because it's starting to happen in mainstream schools thanks to the complete break down in discipline.

and the bleeding heart 'liberals' again who removed discipline and any detrimental punishment from schools dis empowering teachers and staff blunting their authority.

I disagree with this to a point.

If you can afford to have your kid in a decent old Model C school or a private school then this country is brilliant to raise your children in.
