Science Jokes Thread.

Like how much the USA sucks at science :D

CERN = European Organization for Nuclear Research, Independence Day = break away from Europe. Oh I wonder if the creator ever thought about that.

Not fair at all. That one US particle accelerator actually detected something similar if I'm not mistaken. As much as I believe US people keep to their own pockects of society I can't say the same of their scientists/engineers. How many US people are involved at CERN and it's related projects or any other scientific projects worldwide? Schite this is just the wrong bunch of people to pick on and make fun of stereotypes.

Heisenberg is out for a drive when he's stopped by a traffic cop. The cop says "Do you know how fast you were going?"
Heisenberg replies, "No, but I know exactly where I am!"

Hehe :D Quantum physics at it's best.

Lol try using that one on our traffic cops:
"You can't fine me because quantum physics says you don't know how fast I was really going."
Reply: *ticket* :D

I haven't watched all of the Mythbuster episodes, but one that strikes me is the fact that they (as far as I can remember) have always tried to use a scientific method.

Not really, but they try :D

There are many scientific methods. What many of the science prophets on this forum fail to realise. Anybody whose ever seen real science in action knows that to deal with new problems you often have to invent a method that works.

Bwahahahaha...:D

This one is not comparing differences in the scientific method as a concept and approach to gathering knowledge but differences in experimental techniques used within that method to arrive at the conclusion(s). Not the same thing at all.

It is hard to separate the techniques utilised within the study from the abstract method of thinking and arranging your investigation in order to demonstrate your conclusion so I understand the confusion.

This one is just saying that the basic outline of the scientific method is nothing but a basic outline and isn't an accurate reflection of the details of all studies. Duh. News at 11.

Here I don't understand the confusion. The articles subject matter is explicitly stated right up front and it goes on to directly critique the oversimplification. It is literally the entire content of the article... how did you miss that?
