Mr Morrison was at SWEL Specialised Welding and Engineering on Friday to announce a $21.9 million Indigenous Leadership and Governance package as part of a trip to the Northern Territory.
It was during this he was captured, by Channel Seven News, having a crack at welding, but instead of keeping his protective helmet over his face while undertaking the dangerous activity, he pulled his mask up at the worst possible moment.
The PM said he was “on the tools again” as he grabbed the welder and approached the piece of steel.

Keeping protective gear on while welding is a little difficult for a beginner. But once you get the hang of it, it's so much easy.

I'll admit I've made mistakes like this when learning to weld
I only had a shade 12 Flip front helmet back then though, I wouldn't have made these mistake with a Auto darkening helmet like the one he has

Same here, but instructor was very strict when it came to safety. But after a day, it becomes second nature.

Goodbye corneas. Ronde hande, so shite at diy, he'll just pay someone to assemble some ikea furniture for him.

I'd be very surprised if the kids running around in his house are actually his.

Yes it does, auto darkening helmets are wonderful. Only danger is when you are positioning fine work and the rod touches inadvertently, usually no damage though.

HUH? That split second will do nothing. Although I am no expert welder, I have many times tack something without a helmet, before welding it properly. No arc eyes.
this is just trying to create drama.
