Screamer ADSL

Guys were are tuning the unlimited demand all the time and we definitely do read these posts so please let us know what your experiences are.

This weekend especially as we made some major changes this week.

Thanks

Well i have to ask what changes are or have been made .As speeds are still until till now very very slowwwwwwwww 2-3kb .if lucky you get 10kb .Is that the changes that were made ??????????????

arghhhhhhhhhhhh

I still can't use PPTP... Packets out of order.

fracken PATHETIC. Screamer, your "Engineers" are INCOMPETENT HACKS!

By major changes YOU MEAN YOU BROKE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!

If I had people like you working with me, I wouldn't just fire you. I'd fire you. From a cannon. Into the sun.

Catch a god damn wake up. What the hell man..

"We're making changes"

What changes????? Have you ever heard of testing things before you make changes to a production network?

LMFAO

dude, from a cannon? into the sun?

bwahahahahahahahhaahhahahaahahahha

As the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for..." but I do believe that in the case of Screamer, an exception should be made... "You pay for what you get..."

10kb/s amounts to roughly 4% of 384k... so it should only be fair to pay 4% of R399 ~ R16...

my pages are loading. can you believe it?!?! torrents.... 2-4kb

http - timeout.

Fantastic... and all howzit has to say is the above message... wonderful. Clearly he is not reading the posts.

Adrenalin, if they had an a tiny inkling of the anger and frustration over the past few pages they would come bearing a flag of truce and begging forgiveness.... possibly sacrificing a small animal....

To cancel or not to cancel

At the beginning of the month, the service was amazing. 20k+ on torrents and very decent browsing speeds. Now... <1k for torrents and I cannot load any pages. I might just cancel and move over to something else. For R399, I can get 13 Gigs from Afrihost. This is much less than the 30 Gigs I am able to get from Screamer, but at least I know that I can actually use the internet at ANY time. And not have to switch when I need to download something or browse a website.

I have been downloading Ubuntu... 700MB... It's 60 hours in and I have only gotten 400MB done... Excellend job. Dialup is better, I'd say... At this rate, I should really cancel my account. <Profanity_here>...

Edit: Oh, I'm posting with Afrihost right now. Screamer can't do anything right now and is useless.

I have not even bothered with my screamer account for the last 2 weeks. Been pumping on Afrihost. To make it worse I have 2 accounts with screamer.... My work 512 account worked much smoother than my 384 account..... makes u think...

wow two accounts, are you using both at the same time, ie on two seperate lines? because if you like sharing, you could share with me...

I have a personal deal I made with them (cost wise). I have the 512 uncapped at my Office on a 512 line. Which was cruising rather nicely till last week. This month it did slow down after the "upgrade" at the beginning of Feb. It had been running at an average of 49kB/s solidly till the public IP switch over. The 384 line is at home and as all you guys on the 384 package will know, it has been useless.

So Problem 1 started after the First upgrade to take on new users (I guess they loaded it up more than it could handle). My 512 has not done a 512 speed at all this month. It has been running like a 384 connection :(
Problem 2 was the public IP story. Everything since then has gone to shyte.....

Answers is what we need .Which not getting now.All of us cannot be wrong NATIONWIDE .We all experiencing slow speeds i mean slowwwwwwwwwww as it goes .A snail crawls faster than what we getting now.Since Feb now ,which is also saying goodbye .What solutions have you came up with

If they using Saix backbone as well with Seacom as they proclaim. Why not use Saix in the meantime so we can go on well with speeds.

When you get good speeds for1 -2 hour then you cannot browse .page time outs.etc .

Screamers do you guys know the meaning of engineering and configuring a network ?
Makes me wonder /

Yea IRG as soon as we heard Uncapped we thought it would be perfect but that isn't the case, yea i heard SAOL has been great so far, have a look at them.

my dloads had been going fairly well over the last 6 hour, now gone south big time.
avg speed of 10 - 12 KB/s with lots of breaks.

well. Here is my theory, for what it's worth.

If the service of screamer suddenly disappear when something goes wrong and they come up with STUPID answers like S P's & howzit's answers, then i am afraid that alone is enough for me to cancel. I have plenty other choices, afrihost, saol, sainet, g connect etc ... And lets be honest, their support not only exists, it is fantastic! So, to the people that cancelled, please advise which method you used? That is, if you're still reading this post.

Dankie.

I just emailed [email protected] and explained that I find the service unusable and would like to cancel my account and asked that the 30 day cancellation time does not apply due to the shocking service...
