Screamer Answer This!!!!

I have a Telkom 4Mbps ADSL line, so after all the threads I posted on Screamer, I thought let me give them a fair try. So I subscribed to the 384Kbps uncapped account.:)

Now lets see, average downloads never peak more than 22Kbps on average a measly 6Kbps, but uploads are averaging at 45Kbps.:mad:

I want Howzit or anyone of those geniuses from Screamer to explain this to me, cause the "Technical" guy I spoke to last night sounded like he was half a sleep and his knowledge level equated to his previous job, which by the sound of it, probably was as sales assistant at Mr Price. WTF.:mad:

The answer I got, "they are working on it, should be fine tomorrow”, which at no surprise is not.

Screamer, what we want is what is advertised 384Kbps download speeds.

How long is this going to take?!?!?!:mad:
 
I want to know cause after 7 emails and no response I'm forced to go into the back to apply a stop order cause they don't want to close my account. They don't even want to respond. I'm getting max 7kbs download on 4mb/s line which I think is unexceptable!! :mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
Dude... why dont you just read the right thread... FFS. They already explained the issues, very clearly too.

Come midnight my connection just drops - router and everything else indicates I am connected (which is just to screamer I guess) but then I am unable to ping anything - not even able to access teh actual screamer.co.za site.

I called- them at 2.30 as I was yet again unable to access a damn thing.

I have been battling to download my OS updates from the apple site for the last 3 days - eventually - I have gone the direct route now along with a download manager.

Thank heavens I took up the offer from the screamer rep - to cancel my account - only using it until month end and then that's it the end of screamer for me.

I hear the bit about their explanations - but when I lose total connections come 12.00 until some other time when I am at work, it simply won't do for me.
 
I have read this thread many times and posted on it too. That is not why I started this new thread. I just want an answer, which I could not get from the so-called technician last night.

I want to give them a chance, that is why I subscribed, but in order to do this they need to give me a clearer answer that the guy last night.
 
Ok, than also please someone explain to me why are the upload speeds not affected.:confused:

Because their download speeds are shaped. ;)

That, and remember, most people will download and not upload. That's why there's enough bandwidth for uploading :)
 
I think instead of cancelling accounts, they must provide what they promised and advertised.

Im also eagerly waiting for the issues to be resolved, i have the same problems as everyone here only had the account for a day and its been barely usable.

extremely slow speed, intermittent disconnects, bad latency, no connection to incoming ports, no dns address from what i can see.

did i miss anything?
its not supposed to have any of these problems if it is indeed unlimited, unshaped adsl as advertised.
 
Am I right when I say that the upload speeds do not effect your downloads speeds, as uploads and downloads are running separately, different pipes.:confused:

definitely not

If i want to download FULL speed on my 4MB line i have to restrict my upload speed to about 20k. I think in theory it supposed to work that way..but my upload speed severely influence my download and browsing speed
 
well....my input....speeds vary.....but for 3 days that i have an account i have been downloadind for the full day but the time gap from 9am to 17.00(when i work,and i need sure connection,so i'm on my telkom account).So for these 16 hours other than 0900-1700 i've been on torrents and have got 1.3,1.5,1.4 gb per day for the last 3 days.I'm sure on the weekend i'll get more.I think it is still good value for money......
 
digital, what are your torrent managers settings in terms of the uploads speeds?

i do not upload,i think it's on 1.I chose to pay small fee to be on the VIP list of a torrent,so do not need to upload.:)
 
my 384 screamer is fantastic tonight.....so far.....:D:D:D:D

Thanks to all the Screamer guys for all their hard work it seems to be paying off....
