Hi,

I've been reading through the T&C of Screamer and found this...

2.2 On termination for any reason, any outstanding installments on CPE must be paid in full.

Now, if you pay for it, then obviously you keep it, but why would you want to keep it if you can't use it for anything else?

It's an old clause that related to WiFi CPE that was rented. It does not apply to your WiMAX CPE.

Can't you use the same equipment with another Wimax provider such as Telkom? One would think that they use the same type of equipment.

Telkom uses 3,5 Mhz spectrum and Screamer uses 2.5 Mhz spectrum so although the CPE look the same they are not interchangeable:rolleyes:

I'm pretty sure you meant 2.5Ghz and 3.5Ghz

But hey.. you're the expert.

I think the T&C of Screamer need some serious work. I'm about to get screamer wimax installed sometime today only because telkom isnt seem to interested in installing wimax at my place or making any money.
Getting back on the topic, there is no mention of what to do in case of a move? Im thinking of moving homes and how would i go about relocating my wimax? or how does the termination proceeds? and attempt to get DSL again for the 4th time just because of the 4mb connection. In the end this R2450 equipment which can become redundant kinda bothers me. My garage is already full of sentech, 2x iburst, dsl modems! any one interested?
screamer really need to change they website, i have been using a smartphone for a while and I didnt know how to dial the "scream" part (0860 SCREAM) untill i got hold of a trusty number pad phone

Our T&C's are long enough and trying to cater for every action our clients could make would make them impossible.
But to answer your question we charge an installation fee of R350 to move your installation.
I will ask our web developer to include a numerical representation of our toll free number as well.
Thanks for the feedback.
