I will look into the service you are getting from our local branch asap and get back to you.

In general we have had some issues with packet loss on our Neotel transmission portion of the bandwidth we use and they report that it is now back to normal.
Please guys when you notice that your latency is spiking or lagging, open a ticket with our call centre because I can guarantee you that this is the fastest way to let our senior techies know there is an issue and it haleps me track down any bad service.
Open tickets are taken VERY SERIOUSLY and also allows us to listen to the support call if it was not up to standard and get the call centre agent trained correctly on the issue.

Thx Howzit for response - seems Desmond is the guy I need to chat with - holding thumbs - have a look at my account and dalview tower and note number of subscribers to tower - that is where the problem is

There has been a surge in demand for access to our network but we keep a close eye on our towers to make sure they are not over contended. Will keep an eye on the Dalview tower personally.
 
Upstream tonight looks horrible, latency up to the 1500ms mark and lots of packet loss. I am unable to play WoW like this. Dont you have a another upstream to swich us over too, this is going on for 2 days now.
 
My issues finally also getting resolved -

For those on the Neotel bandwidth blend there has been (yet another) glitch on Neotels international bandwidth and so we are on a back up link with them and that is why your latency will have risen a bit tonight. Should be back to normal tomorrow morning.

well my run with Screamer was good.
only had a few issues here and there. but unfortunatly my time has come to an end.
i moved house this week and am now located in an area where the techs are unable to get any wifi or wimax signal from fourways Mall.
time to find some other kind of alternative connection. while i wait a thousand years for telkom to see if there is space on thier DSLAM...

When Seacom has a problem on their bandwidth we switch to our redundent bandwidth and that is why our Seacom clients dont notice when Seacom is down.
However because of Neotels (sometimes convoluted) routing we cannot switch all of our Neotel bandwidth clients to another supply. Combine this with the fact that Neotel bandwidth gets affected when Seacom goes down and you get a strange misnoma which has raised some questions from our clients and that is:
When you see a report that Seacom has gone down or has a problem, some of our Neotel broadband based clients will experience a degradation but our Seacom based clients wont.

Wimax connection 100% since last week. Awesome latency as always just in time for Cataclysm.

i am missing out on cata for a while till i manage to get some kind of connection setup at my new place :(
just a pity that i can not get any Screamer coverage in my new place.
why oh why did i have to live in a dip...
 
Wish i could say the same my ping to WoW via screamer is sitting on an average of 1500ms :(
 
even Battleping does the job. and i used that on Screamer.
avg latency was 250 - 300ms
