Hallo

I would like to know, how many people here upgrades their computers for games and would you rather pay R8000 for a screencard, or would a price like R3000 be more sufficient...

If you throw in new mobo, cpu with the highend graphics card R8000 would not be too bad....other than that around R3500 for a 7800 is the going rate.

o wait a second

i might sound dumb here but your female right?
or gay? :) just wondering no intent just wondering :)

Xenophon is female. :)

Hey don't sweat it, I paid around R7500 for my 2 vid cards :p

But then, nobody said I was sane...

At least if you buy a high end card it lasts. I went through two cards already in the time that a friend of mine has gone through a single high end card. Keep in mind that he still gets excellent fps, whilest mine are not too great.

you guys have way too much money!!!

the graphics cards are one of the fastest loosing value components in todays PC. The CPUs are not that bad, even RAM is better. 2 years old graphics card cost about 10% of its original cost, 2 years CPU cost about 60-70% of its original cost!

swordfish i think you got it wrong

2 year old cpu will more than 50% value

2 year old card you might as well give it away for free

there is no way if you buy a 7800 for 4000 that in 2 years time someone will buy it from you for 3600 no way in hell

Generally +-2 years but if you want to run a game at the highest settings, probably between 6 months - 1 year but that's only really for the hardcore gamer.

So as far as i understands he means that if you buy a 7800 for R4000 in two years time it'll be wourth R400.
