hi jack
so my screencard went over the weekend and just shows a lotta $ sigh's when booting up and hits me whit the blue screen of death and then reboots. So I went from a 3ghz 9800Gtx back to a 1.8Ghz whit a 7600gt and that brings me to my point :) that a good pc and screen card enhances your wow experiance somuch that it kek to play whit e very seting on low. And some times I only see the mob when I'm ontop of them and I wonder how many people play like this just so that they can play wow?

Well for those people it aint that strange because they are used to it and dont know of anything better. besides, that is probably what the people in the UK/europe say about south african latency...

This game lags pretty badly now if you turn the settings all the way up. You need a pretty decent graphics card to start playing around with the sliders and pushing them all the way to the right. I went from a 9600GT to a radeon 4890 1gig and the increase in detail and performance is quite noticeable.

i just built myself a nice pc this weekend (amd fan), thou i prefer nvidia, i went for an ati radeon hd4890 1gb xxx edition, and i can play everything on full, including shadows, 8x multisampling, verticle sync with triple buffering. Its amazing:D

Wish I had some spare cash to invest in new screencard. Have to pay honeymoon first :( And thereafter no money I earn will ever be mine again...

i just bought a 9400 gt for my second system and get 80fps in wow..what a bargain

now put vertical sync on, triple buffering, reduce input lag, 8x multisampling, full shadows, and everything full. And you wont get 80fps:), i know this how? my friend has that card and he suffers when he puts it all high.

I also upgraded my video card the weekend.
From a Geforce 7800 GTX up to a GTX 280.

Had to also upgrade my PSU in the process... bugger needs a little koeberg nuclear powerstation to run properly.

But on the upside, I play with every single setting, except shadow quality, up to the max. Shadow detail I keep in the middle, since it looks weird at full quality.

I still have to run with Vsync on due to tearing, so I am capped at 60 FPS everywhere except dalaran. (Dalaran it goes down to 40 FPS). Damn nice playing wow again with all the eye-candy full taps open :D

daralan is just badly designed imo, even if i put my gfx low on my new card i get some stuttering in dara. Also i have ddr3 amd phenom x4 3.2ghz quad core, so its not like the computer cant keep up with the calculations.

I did ulduar last night , and that place definitely has more spectacular lighting and shadows than dara, and it runs perfectly, i am running in dara, suttering, second im in the bank its smooth. I will test wintersgrasp tonight, on my macbook pro it was near impossible todo anything in there.

my settings are full actually..but for the price (R400) im not complaining..if i wanted to fly spaceships to mars id buy a monster but wow doesnt need it.it does help if u have 2gb's or more ram.. if u want a smooth experience.

Its Dalaran not Daralan ;)

But have to agree a new graffic card does make a huge difference, though for some reason that increase soon starts to wine away :(
I play on a 22'' widescreen full resolution it is quite amazing the level of detail! Same card as Pornolio, though I did build my PC a year ago just for wow.

yep im playing on a 23" now, did wintersgrasp last night on my macbook pro it would lag like hell (gfx wise), last night was 100% was getting a stead 50fps with all the mayhem going on:) was fun.

I went from a 8600GT to an ATI Radeon 4870.. Uhm ya. There is no comparison once you start playing everything max detailed.

so just replace my 9800 whit a 9800 or get a 258 or better ? Only thing I play is wow and a little bit of need for speed and prototype

i wouldnt go for the 258, unless you meant 285.. which in that case its over kill if its just for wow, if you want to go for a decent ranged card go for the 275 gtx, i was going to get that, but they didnt have stock, so i settled on the 4890
