Hi,
I haven't seen anyone else mention this here, but I've been trying to get my Ring Doorbell and Reolink cameras reliably into Apple HomeKit for ages with every little real success. Tried Home Assistant obviously, Homebridge, Hoobs etc. Would be very flakey or the quality would suck or wouldn't really work at all.
I finally found Scrypted about a month ago. Life changed! I've got it on running as an add-on on my Home Assistant Blue it it works beautifully. My cameras and doorbell now work properly on my Apple devices and Apple TVs, doorbell notifications come up on the TV when it rings, HomeKit Secure Video is awesome and the local facial and object recognition (all local) is really good with no Coral or other hardware required. I have also linked actual PIR motion sensors to trigger recording rather that stupid pixel changes to trigger motion which is working well. Talking to people on the doorbell through the Apple Home app seems to work even better than the native Ring app. I have to repeat myself a lot less.
You don't need to use HKSV, and can just set the cameras for streaming only.
It's not super simple to configure, but I'm happy to assist anyone who needs help. I did have issues with RAM utilisation early on before I had everything tweaked properly and the RAM utilisation would ramp up pretty high and did take down HA once (not good!). I have since put an automation in to restart the add-on if free RAM gets below 200MB, and haven't had any issues since, but it hasn't needed to be triggered since I figured out the correct plugins to use etc.
If anyone does want to get non-Apple approved camera and doorbells I highly recommend having a look at Scrypted. Can run on anything, but keeping it nice and tidy on my HA box works nicely for me.
