Still out.Vumatel went completely down in the west rand from around 7pm last night. Some areas were restored and some still without internet, 12 hours later.
Yeah I know and Afrihost has no feedback from Vumatel either. Now working using mobile data.Still out.![]()
99% uptime is 87 hours downtime over the course of a year...so much for 99% uptime they claim so proudly to have.
I see on one of the WhatsApp groups that someone posted that a whole bunch of fibre cables were cut by cable thieves and that these are now being spliced...Yeah I know and Afrihost has no feedback from Vumatel either. Now working using mobile data.
go tell that to people with only 1 fiber line and at a standstill because of this.99% uptime is 87 hours downtime over the course of a year...
What are you ranting about now? You brought up 99% uptime, which equates to 87 hours downtime. Has that been reached this year?go tell that to people with only 1 fiber line and at a standstill because of this.
know of at least a few that panicking and running like Insane Monkeys, because they didn't see fit to install redundant Fiber Backups.
boss's bonus is more important than redundant Fiber #justsaying

you brought 1 fiber line thinking its the best, spend a load of cash on it, and it goes down,What are you ranting about now? You brought up 99% uptime, which equates to 87 hours downtime. Has that been reached this year?
You do you. I brought up nothing except to address your "so much for 99% uptime" rant...you brought 1 fiber line thinking its the best, spend a load of cash on it, and it goes down,
call them, no answer, meanwhile the Chimpanzees in your office are freaking out because nothing is working.
meanwhile you get a apologetic email from seacom a while later explaining whats going on.
and it happens again, how would you feel? Id jump ship or get a redundant backup as a matter of urgency.
so you buy a car, and they advertise 99% defect free,You do you. I brought up nothing except to address your "so much for 99% uptime" rant...
Just give it up. "So much for 99% uptime" implies that's what you expected. Now you're saying that's not enough when the numbers were put forward. Put the klippies down and go drink some water, it's too early for this schit...so you buy a car, and they advertise 99% defect free,
and then it leaves you stranded because out of the 20,000 components, statistically only 19,800 will be trouble free.
I don't think you'll be too happy.
Better than Telkom tho.Vumatel sounds horrific
