Seacom maintenance may mean slow ADSL

TENET falling over to WACS:

SEACOM is currently down due to a planned event and is expected to be restored around 20h00 this evening.

International traffic is currently rerouting via WACS.

Due to this shift in traffic, we are experiencing congestion on the national backbone, particularly between Cape Town, Bloemfontein and WITS Johannesburg.
This will result in packet loss / dropped sessions for client traffic traversing this path.

I don't know if this is related, but I've been using an IS Ignite shaped account, and for the past week or so, P2P downloads have been shaped into oblivion, even after hours.

Browsing and streaming works perfectly though.
