Got an email from MWEB today.

Please be advised that Seacom is planning some routine maintenance work on a portion of their undersea cable. This will run for approximately two weeks, starting Saturday 16 July 2011 .

We have made provision for this and have managed to secure alternative bandwidth for the duration of the maintenance period. We do not anticipate any disruption to your service during this time.

2 WEEKS!?!? At least they informed the ISP's about this ahead of time ...

Maybe it's for two months.. i.e. R1 promo :) Jokes !! don't think it will cause any hassles (only for uncapped shaped MWEB users) ...

yeah the maintenance was suppose to be in april or something, got delayed till july, was article on mybb saying mweb have enough reduncacy for the maintenance etc, so as email says hope service stays the same.

yay ...... :wtf: expected.

Edit: They also say during a problem it will be resolved in 2 to 3 days. but winds up taking 2 weeks. so 2 weeks cud wind up taking 2 months :P ?
