Seacom progress report

Herlihy, who missed Thanksgiving in his home country to give his talk at Vodaworld, spoke quite openly about some of the real challenges that Seacom’s cable laying process is facing.

Massive sacrifice.. we should all bow down to efforts made ..... whateva....

While the ramblings of the local telecoms companies about Seacom is getting annoying and is definitely overplayed, hearing from Seacom themselves regularly, but not every day, is much appreciated. Thanks RPM and can't wait for Seacom to arrive!

And in other predictions:

July 2009 - a public holiday will be declared as Ivy gets the credit for the Seacom cable and is declared the saviour of SA Telecoms.:):):)

Just a month ago Seacom was touted as a turn key that goes live in June 2009. Now it has changed and it will go on trial at that date. What crap. This is EASY part 2. Next the DoC & ICASA is going to hijack it saying we need to have talk shops to talk about equal share use of infrastructure among all South Africans race and geographic groups.
People forgot how Ivy fooked up EASY so royally on every occasion she got. Fat Albert is far from finished.

tl;dr -thread/

We are still going to get capped like the third rate country we are, right?
When will we actually start seeing the benefits of this cable??

Nnj edit : Point me in the right direction if there's other threads more related to the above, please.
