My network is up and running again. I am having full-speed connectivity on my Cybersmart 4Mbps line. :o

From Seacom Twitter feed:
Happy to hear that some are experiencing faster Internet, but from our side there has been no changes. Still waiting for feedback on repairs

Yeap, I was right. I think I just OWNED someone. LOL! Thanks for the twitter update synapse.

I'm with Axxess (IS) and I do have international today, but it seems like it is heavily shaped. I am stuck on connecting with regards to World of Warcraft and torrents are moving at 2Kbs.

Seacom themselves have said there are no changes there side yet you claiming seacom is working? IS could be routing via there sat-link. Seriously.

Mweb is still pathetically slow.

No problem here. Been working the whole day now. Seems as if Cybersmart are the only one of few ISPs to have fixed the problem.

Cybersmart is one of the ISPs that uses SAT3 for their international bandwidth. Others are Telkom Internet and WebAfrica. So it is expected that they will not be influenced as much by the SMW4 maintenance. IS has organized some bandwidth on SAT3/Satellite which is why Axxess/Afrihost/etc. have connectivity but not much else in terms of downloading capabilities.

Ok im not gonna bother, its like talking to a brick wall.

Then do not reply to my messages you stubborn noob.

@Synapse, dude I have had garbage internet for the past 1 week. Slow as garb but today it has been perfect. Maybe they did change to satellite, you are right.

Aye rip, its as synapse said, the only thing that's changed is that IS has switched over to sat 3 temporarily. So that should work okay now. The isp's that were always on sat 3 are fine too, though sat 3 is probably experiencing more traffic than it is prepared for right now, so nobody will have perfect internet at all times of day. Mweb guys like me, we're still on seacom, which afaik means we follow the seacom cable to india and get re-routed from there.

Okay makes sense. Do you know if Cybersmart has always been on SAT 3? because on their website it only says stuff about the maintenance and not the repairing.

Schick I am not sure. They are either saix or IS, and as far as I know saix has always been sat3, and IS was seacom until yesterday.
