Hi all
I need assistance with a failed HDD I have. The drive was one from a server we had running in the office where staff would save documents to ect. Everything was working perfectly util today when wecouldnt access the filesI unpluged the drive and put it into an external HDD enclosure then windows would pick it up but wold freeze a few minutes intobrowsing the folders but Ubuntu refused to pick it up.
After doing some research I found out that it is a result of "Bad Heads", see Seagate section, number 3 .
Now the drive doesn't get picked up at all and I desperately need to get the files off the as soon as possible (liken a day or 2 max). There is only about 300gigs (give or take) of data but as I mentioned it is really important
Please could someone point me in the right direction and also not someone that will rip me off (happened before where I was charged almost 10k then dropped the price to 7k). I am situated in Milnerton, Cape Town.
