Seagate FreeAgent Question

I bought the Seagate FreeAgent external hard drive to back up info. Using it only for the second time today.

Question - When the external hard drive is connnected to the laptop, it starts an automatic back-up. How do I prevent it from backing up 'old' info and only do a back-up of new info added since the last time?


Do I make sense? Do not laugh, I am clueless about this

Go to Seagate tools and switch of auto backup
Or uninstall autobackup

...and install Synctoy.

U can also switch the lights off via the software - they annoy me.

Weird..My freeagent drive doesn't do this automatic backup thing.

Synctoy 2 should work just fine.

Mmmm, mine does not too .. but then I'm using my own backup process....

I use Time Machine anyway, so don't need their software.

The benefit of the PRO version is FW800 connectivity giving you a theoretically
almost double transfer rate over USB 2.0. The included software seems more
of a hinderance really.
