Second-hand Tesla vs importing one from the US

I bought my 98 Tazz for R30k. Sold it a decade later in the year 2017 for R50k. Mine had no power steering, no night time rear mirror dim and no rev counter. No aircon. Basic 1.3 carb engine.
It did, however get me from Joburg to Pretoria. Jozi to Limpopo. Jozi to Nelspruit. Jozi to Durban. Jozi to Bloem for a stop then to Cape Town. And back home.

Yeah, these are like premium now because people don't want these PCs on wheels and just want something simple that is cheap to maintain.

Gotta have aircon, that is non-negotiable!

There is a Tazz enthusiast thread for people like you/us:

I love Tesla, driven them overseas.

But if there's no proper channel to buy one here i definitely would not import. The support is just not there.

There's already a lot of good electric cars to choose from here. More will come, and hopefully when the thieving of Gov ends and they stop charging insane taxes we can see even more.

I currently have my eyes on that Ford Mach-E. If it launches in South Africa you better move out of my way cause she's so beautiful nothing is stopping me...
