Hey there.

For interests sake I tried that online Second Life game where you supposed to be able to make money and nonsense and be part of a weird online economy.

Anyway it was sooooooooooooooo laggy on my ADSL 512 that I couldn't play it. I don't suppose this will be something no SAfrican can play?!?

I tried it too and had the same problems. It's also dependent on the speed and graphics of your PC.

I used an internet cafe (faster PC) last week and left myself logged in.
>> When I came back, I found I had been fully clothed and shaded a darker hue. (LOL :D)

I got AMD 4200+X2 with 1gig RAM and 8800gts GFX. Don't think I should struggle too much with performance :)

However is the game any good and has anyone managed to get it in a playable state :)

I do remember when I tried it I was running around stark naked, I don't think my clothes had been downloaded yet or something :D ha ha

i tried the game 2 months ago, and for me it was really dreadful. Lots of lag...was running into invisible walls, well the walls did eventually show up like two minutes later....btw im on 384k, so i really cant complain :D

2nd Life is not an "online game." It is a community much like this one (albeit in different form, and with an economy)

Second Life (abbreviated as SL) is an Internet-based virtual world which came to international attention via mainstream news media in late 2006 and early 2007.[4][5] Developed by Linden Lab, a downloadable client program enables its users, called "Residents", to interact with each other through motional avatars, providing an advanced level of a social network service combined with general aspects of a metaverse. Residents can explore, meet other Residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, create and trade items (virtual property) and services from one another.
Second Life

Pity it's 'unplayable', (and subscription)
