Oddly enough I saw a bit of real work at the Winston Churchill and the M7. This was probably one of those "Must be done or we'll get sued into oblivion" projects since there was thousands of litres of raw sewerage just pumping into the river at that point.

Flooding is worsened a lot because of informal settlements next to rivers use the rivers as their garbage disposal clogging it up when it rains and also the settlements being located in floodplains.

SA is a water scarce country. We should celebrate rain not call it an emergency because of bad city planning.
