True. Let's just hope South African encryption and security is better than that of Gates.
 
This seems to indicate that there will be a Conditional Access (CA) module fitted which is really bad news. What that means is that it is unlikely that an off-the-shelf digital TV will be able to work with the so-called free-to-air channels. Welcome to the world of the smart card TV license.

The people re wondering how they will implement the "access card" thingamabob that will allow or deny us TV? Simple... it's digital, meaning that it might have a serial number such as the EMEI or whatever number on a phone, which can be blacklisted, traced, etc....
