So having been the victim of asset redistribution this past weekend, I've been trying to up the house's security.

I've fitted anti-lift brackets etc onto the electric gate, and now my attention is on my security gate. It didn't last at all.

A long time ago I came across this video on YT:

The author said he fitted keeper plates to the gate to prevent sideways movement. Now I've been searching Makro etc for what these are. Does anyone know? And where can I get some?

If you've fitted these, how do you go about doing it?

Thanks in advance!

Fk sakes that's impressive, would love to know what look is fitted, must be something those locks like sliding door locks that hook as well as slide over?

You just need a piece of Channel iron fixed to one side to stop the gate from expanding from the frame at the lock .
You can fix it on the gate or frame about 150 to 200 mm long but strong to stop the crow bar from spreading the gate from the frame where the lock is .
Only fixed one side so the gate can open and close obviously .

Sorry having a hard time visualising this. Please could you explain in a little more detail? Much appreciated. Would like to get this installed on the weekend ASAP

Also don't forget to pay attention to how the gate and the lockbox are connected to the wall or frame as they often attempt to break the gate from the wall and pivot the lock out.

Weld some of this to one side , with the flat outside so when you close the gate it protects the opening between the gate and the frame and keeps the gap from opening when a crowbar is inserted .
You must get the channel bar with a snug fit or make your own to size .

That is amazing.

Watching that I was daydreaming of popping a spike through the zombies heads from inside the fence.
