Security remote and receiver issues

I'm hoping that someone on this forum knows about this kind of thing and can point me in the right direction.

I have 4x 3 button remotes of the 'code hopping' variety (I don't know if that's what they're commonly called, but it's what I know them as).

The buttons are red, blue, with the third one being either green or grey.

The red and blue buttons would open/close the gates at my in-laws townhouse complex, and the third button was a spare, so we decided to utilise it to arm/disarm our house alarm.

This worked perfectly, up until yesterday, when my in-laws complex had some thefts (thieves had remotes), so the old oom supervisor changed the codes for the gates somehow. Now 3 of the remotes work perfectly for the complex gates, but they stopped working for my house alarm. The old oom apparently took a look at the fourth remote (which looks similar to the others), and couldn't figure out how to change the codes so it would work with their gate.

So now I have 3 remotes that work on the complex gates, but not with my house alarm, and 1 remote that works with my house alarm but not with the complex gates, and the old bugger has no clue how to get it to work. But that's not the problem.

The problem is actually with the receiver for my house alarm.

All I know is that it's a 'Sentry' receiver.

So I start re-programming the receiver to accept the other 3 remotes. No problem, all 3 of them now work with my house alarm. But mine suddenly no longer works.

So I reprogram mine, and the other three stop working.

Cycle ad-infinitum. I cannot figure out why when I program my remote, it clears the other 3, or when I program the other 3, it clears my remote.

Now from what I understand, my remote is a bit different to the others. As I understand it, the other three remotes have DIP switches inside for configuration (I think - I didn't open one to take a look), while mine has nothing. The difference comes in when I press and hold one of the buttons on my remote, the LED starts flickering in patterns between red and green (heck, I didn't even know there was a green LED on it!) - the other remotes don't do this.

So without a manual for my Sentry receiver, and/or a manual for my remote, I'm a bit stuffed. I *know* all these remotes WERE working, until the old bastard at the complex screwed up the settings.

Anyone have a clue what's going on here?

Normaly when the led flashes on the remote (after holding the button down for 5 seconds) the remote can learn the signal from another remote. while holding the button down once it starts flashing press the required button to learn from. The remote should stop flashing meaning it has learned the signal.

This way you should be able to program that remote to one of the other remotes button for button. (I have done this to a few remotes in the past)

Hmm. I thought it might be something like that. I tried, but nothing much seemed to happen, but I think I was pressing the wrong button to learn. :p
