So I am nearing the end of my msc computer science and not sure what area I would like to work in. I've done software and android development, machine learning/ data analytics, virtualization(vmware esxi, hyper-v, xenserver), networks, devops and basic sysadmin type of projects in my studies.

I am interested in security but I haven't done any C. anyone here work in security? any advice on what these roles usually entail? thanks!

Sounds like a job where everyone hates you and you do allot paperwork in a very red tape environment.

Hi,

I think the first thing you need to do is research aka Google which part of cyber security you are interested in. Security is a broad term to use. I am in cyber security as a penetration tester but you can be either a penetration tester, malware researcher, reverse engineer, mobile penetration tester, etc etc

Or even Cyber Security awareness and workshops.
