Seeking advice on R11K self-built PC

I have been looking at graphic cards all day! I've decided to go with the EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD. I'm going to be using this card for a few years and EVGA seems to be the most reliable brand, based on reviews/forums/etc. EVGA apparently is one of the better brands when it comes to customer service/warranties/etc. - this card has a 3 year warranty. I chose the EVGA over same-price cards by MSI and Palit. EVGA and MSI are the better-known brands, and EVGA's customer reputation helped me choose them.

I've looked at too many reviews of the gtx 570 vs the 9670 and they seem so close. The physx support and familiarity made stick with the nvidia card.

i5 2500K CPUs just went out of stock on Rebel Tech, so I'm not waiting around any longer...

BUT..

If you only paying R500 more for a card that comes with good aftermarket cooler like twin frozr iii does, this sort of thing is already worth ~R500, plus you get an extra years warranty (I doubt you'll use it) but it's nice to have if you sell the card after 1 year and will help your sale.
The card will be running cooler and quieter than the stock cooler plus the work to OC it is already done for you, giving you that extra fps boost.

Yeah, the main attraction of the MSI TF iii was the custom cooler, factory overclock (so I don't have to fiddle with it myself) and the warranty. But what Gnome said does make sense in one respect - I'm going to be using this GPU for at least 2 years prob more, so I want it to be reliable more than anything else. So hectic overclocking that requires custom cooling soon started sounding like the wrong option. The EVGA I'm getting is not overclocked, but I think the standard clock speeds on the gtx570 will be good enough for me anyway. A lot of games these days are CPU intensive right? I will oc the i5 2500K to 4,5GHz, as that seems to be pretty beneficial without huge risk.

I've updated all the components on the first post to reflect exactly what my purchases are. I'm pretty happy I made the budget I intended.
 
Hi guys. Sorry to double post but Rebel Tech just emailed me saying that they're out of the Antec PSUs. What good alternatives are there?

Yes referring to Rebel Tech not having stock, and because of this taking your money to someone who has stock.

Nonono. CM Extreme Power are not great at all.

After the Antec HCG 520, the next best value is Corsair CX500 - 600.

I do see the Antec HCG 520 & 620 are out of stock at my suppliers. Stock usually arrives in 3 - 5 working days. So if you're patient, maybe RT will have it next week?
 
Just be careful with regard to ordering to late during December, allot of places will stop taking orders next week or so to ensure they can deliver the items to their customers. No customer wants to have paid then sit till January to receive their order.
So I'd say make sure you order before Wednesday next week.

Look at wootware, prophecy, landmark, zaps, titain-ice, sybaritic and evetech to see what products they have in stock.

I have the Corsair GS800 and must admit very nice PSU and it comes with build in LED lights with 3 colours Red/White/Blue where you can push the button on the back what colour you want if you like lights :)

And yea all the Corsair GS "Gaming Series" comes with the LED lights.

I wanted to go for the CX series.. but meh no lights and i love lights in my Case.

LOL at lights. :D

Honestly though, good PSUs, but that's about all GS range offers these days - they certainly don't offer value for money.

No... Just about every game out there will get hit by a GPU bottleneck long before it hits a CPU bottleneck

As for the OC story, you're happy to OC the CPU while not worrying about longevity, but not the GPU? :confused:
The cards are custom designed, with better/more circuitry for this exact purpose - to sustain a 24/7 OC, there is almost no reason to believe its going to have issues, at least, no more issues than what you can expect from your CPU.
