Hi!

Just got a very nice surround sound sytem for my PC today..... however, I don't have a sound card for it.

Looking for a decent card under 400 bucks, new.

Is that possible? ....and any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

The Soundblaster Live 24 bit or the Audigy Value both by Creative, they are under R400. Google a few reviews about them. both are good value for money sound cards.

Creative® Sound Blaster Audigy Value PCI Sound Card - 6 Channel Surround Sound Support - Perfect For Gaming, Music & Movies - EAX Support.

Decent card at good price it goes for about R280

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback!

R280 you say? Are you maybe refering to this one?

Because, if you are.....where can I find it for that price?

Yip agreed have the same card!

If it were a nice surround sound I would go X-Fi which is about R700 but Audigy 4 is your best bet.

Are you talking about the Extreme Audio?
If so, it's not a REAL X-Fi...

If someone wants to spend R400 on a soundcard, then today's modern onboard solutions are just as good.

Personally, I'd go for a Xonar D2X or Prelude.. (okay, I will admit - I own a Xonar D2, and loooove it far more than my ExtremeMusic)

But that's just me...

:D
