Self-Service Port Reset?

So I recently logged a fault with Telkom when my DSL was up but was incapable of connecting - I was 99% sure a port reset would fix the problem after speaking with a former Telkom tech friend - and eventually took an hour out of my workday to get tech support on the line. A port reset later and voila, it's working fine.

So today I got a follow-up call from Telkom, asking if they can close the fault (which is bizarrely good of them). I asked the phone rep about this - I believe that the port problem related to load-shedding somehow, and wanted to know if there was some other way to request a port reset other than dialling 10210 and waiting for an hour. The guy on the other side said they've just added a self-service port reset option on their website. I thanked him but didn't actually check up on this.

Queue this afternoon and I'm seeing significant packet loss. I'd like to check that a port reset wouldn't fix this, but visiting the site, I can't find any mention of it. Anyone here used it?

Axxess has the feature, although it seems to have stopped working for me as of late?

Doesn't just turning off the modem achieve a port reset automatically. Also, it's not a fix-all.

I have logged a fault and all it said was that they would respond within 3 days and a reference number was given.
That's due the function of accessing the DSLAM to execute the port reset has been taken away from the call centre agents. Your request will be routed to the next tier of support.
