I have found a buyer for my car and informed the person via a work messenger that the car is in shoddy condition [he is buying it at a steal]

Is there anything I need to do to protect myself from him saying "You didn't tell me how crap this car is"

Is there a contract in place stating that he is buying a piece of crap in a shoddy condition?

Simply put it all down on paper - stuff that you know to be wrong, and that he acknowledges that he is buying it "as is" - you can still do that in a private sale - make 2 copies, you both sign both and he keeps one copy, and the car a drives off into the sunset.

I was perhaps a little harsh in the original post about the car,

Its a fordka 2006, (posted about it before)

Has a few dings
Needs a new thermostat housing and coolant bottle and one or two other small fixes.

Selling for 17k

Still runs fine besides hot air coming through vents and leaking coolant.

KA uses the Rocam engine, you only got the 1.3 and then the 1.6 in the KA Sport.

Why don't you just fix the vehicle up? Sell it... I'm sure many of the issues can be resolved.

If its not a 1.4 then its a 1.3 I would need to look at the cars papers,

I have never seen a 1.6 version, must be pretty cool
