So I officially came to a decision, buying another car and selling KA, against tehStrangers sage advice,

KA has many issues: [Blame the gf]

Namely:

Bump on the boot (Fairly large)
Scrape on the side (Also fairly large - down to the panel)
Coolant bottle leaking
Needs new thermostat housing
Needs new tyres
Needs new Brakes
Dashboard light flickers on and off occasionally

According to mechanic none of this is a HUGE deal but will obviously affect value of car.

Do I fix and sell or just sell?
How much do I sell for?

Car still goes fine, interior is good and only has 114k on the clock

Car is a 2006 trend 1.3 litre, interior is neat

Should I try a 2nd hand dealer or private sale - I am willing to lose some money to just get rid of it - need garage space.

PS: I know a previous thread exists that is sort of similar to this, I could not find it :)

R 35 500 Retail. So probably close to R 28 000 trade. Selling as is, with the dent and the likes, probably close to about R 18 - 20k at most.

If you were in JHB I'd consider taking the car myself.

I think Pitbull's numbers are spot on. Definitely worth fixing it before you sell, that way the buyer has less bargaining room.

Otherwise R10,000 cash + a case of beers now, I'll fly down to collect.
