Selling text content via sms

i always see adverts on TV saying "to get your daily horoscope sms letter m to 305050. sms cost only 5 rand/week"

i have an idea and this idea is selling text via sms. like you subscribe by smsing and you get the text. something like famous qoutes but not quite like it.

my question is how do i go about it ? bring this idea to life. thanks in advance.

There is enough schyte spam via sms. I would not pay for more.

Hi Skyhawk

These services are offered by what we call WASPS and are heavily regulated. You can check out the industry regulations at http://www.waspa.org.za/

If you feel you have a business case for your idea then you need to contact a WASP to setup the shortcode for you. Unless you got a lot of cash and technical expertise, your not going to be able to do it alone.

There is a revenue share between you, the WASP and the network and depending on the value of the shortcode, your going to get about 40% of that value (ex VAT). Your also obliged to send out confirmation and reminders SMS to the customer at your expense. Also all the liability is on you so if there are any disputed you will end up refunding the customer in full and the network keeps their profit share.
