Hi guys,

So this is kind of like a short tale, and I want your feedback on my ideas.
My girlfriend really seems to enjoy playing games and watching me play. So I decided to upgrade to a new computer, and give her my old one... with some new toys in it though.
Recently I scored a free motherboard from work, brand spanking new. The in-house tech in our JHB branch 'broke' it and I fixed her up and I'm using it currently.

So here's what it currently has, and what I want to get her. I'm low on cash though so it is limited.
* Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2Ghz
* Stock cooler
* 2 GB DDR 800 Ram
* Some MSI motherboard
* 320GB HDD + 80GB HDD
* Crappy old case
* 470 ODIN PSU
* Radeon HD 4670 1GB

Here's what I want to upgrade for her:
* New 22" screen
* New air cooler (Ordered already: DeepCool Tiger Shark)
* 4GB DDR800 Ram (Already Ordered)
* Cooler Master Elite 370 case

I was thinking of overclocking the cpu for her a bit, from say 2.2Ghz to about 2.8Ghz... Any ideas on this?

Never bought an odin and doubt I will, but if it's working so be it :)

More of the SFW info would be appreciated, what kinda games do you play, or will play?
Assuming the screen res is about 1680 x 1050 she might require/want a better GPU if she will be play demanding games or just want higher settings..
My sis complained when she couldn't play sims 3 on full settings :/
 
Well she plays left 4 dead 2 a lot and that game runs fine on it. I guess it depends on her. FPS games mostly. Probably new games then.

Here's a question for you guys, how much would you guys pay for a 775 motherboard (gigabyte s2 series) + 2GB of DDR800 ram and a stock cooler? Obviously if you wanted to buy this...
 
Where did you find yourself a gf that likes to play PC games? That's pretty cool, mine rides horses, shops and that kind of thing. Lucky find.
 
She also shops and stuff, but she enjoys her games, specially if she can shoot me in the game it seems. These days a lot of girls enjoy gaming, but I find it mostly in English girls. Afrikaans girls seem to like booze more. In any case, she does photography on the side, but some evening we just have a small lan.

Hahaha okay okay. I'll see if I can upload some tonight maybe. SFW though, you guys ain't getting any other kinky stuff out of me. Although, considering it, pics of a girl playing games is kind of kinky for men who want their girlfriends to play with them... but the girl wants nothing of it.

Am I right? Or am I right?

Other than these question, I see no problem with your setup. As for the OCing, it might help a bit, but won't make that big of a difference on L4D2...
 
NSFW = Not safe for work
SFW = Safe for work

Not sure about the other one though... and I know it won't make a difference with that, but I also want the extra speed in corel draw, I do some pretty large sized designs and I'm going to use this pc until I can afford to buy a decent new setup for myself.
