Sending Fax over 3G. Possible ?

Hi All

One of our offices are currently unable to get telkom lines so we are using a 3G data card in the pc.

We have a free fax to e-mail number but we would like to send faxes also.

Is it possible to send a fax from windows or your e-mail client to a normal land line fax machine using 3G.

I did come across some old archived discussions on MyBB dating from 2005 but that does not help.

Can Anyone help ?

You'd scan / digitally photograph the document, and then use an email-to-fax service provider who would fax your email for you.

Seems like the newer data cards don't support FAX services directly.

Does any of the data cards that vodacom released support fax services? And i read that there is a fax service that you can activate on your contract, or is that only to receive faxes to your number?

I think some of the very early 3G (384/64) ones did. Not sure about the later ones though.

I have my doubts. FAX technology is very far removed from GPRS/EDGE/3G.

I can call an analogue telephone on the Telkom network from my 3G mobile.
