Hey everyone

Does anyone know if Telkom has now clamped down on sending mail through smtp.saix.net? My dad has a Webmail account that is set up in Outlook Express. Has worked fine the last 4 odd years, but about 3 weeks ago he could no longer send mail out. Checking the error messages shows that the mail is being rejected with Relay Access Denied. I've narrowed it down to either them clamping down, or the fact that I'm using FNB Connect currently and Telkom is blocking connections from that network.

It would make sense if Telkom tightened things up, as that server could be used for spam, but it would mean setting up a new email account for my dad and redirecting the Webmail account.

Thanks eveyone :)

I think that's it - try again using a SAIX account

Thanks, I will try this when I get home. It only hit me that this might be the cause as I posted here, but I decided to ask, just to make sure.

Yeah, most ISP's force you to use their smtp servers. Often on Mweb, we can only use smtp.mwebdsl.co.za and not private smtp servers same with wireless providers and 3g providers. Atleast our side.
