Sending SMS via PC

Hi,
I'm looking for a method of sending SMSes from a PC application via the Internet. Obviously this doesn't have to be free, I just need a way to do this from within a custom application. I suppose there must be an API or similar available but can't seem to find the correct information.

That could work as a last resort. Although the idea is that the SMS can be sent from within a custom application using some sort of portal. So basically I'm looking for such a portal and how to interface with it.

Cell C's modems have a send SMS tab, (mine does, don't know about the new ones). Sends straight from the modem, no portals or anything.

Get a fusion GPRS modem and use that to send SMS'

The two popular types of SMS gateway connections are HTTP and SMPP. Have a look at Vodacom Developer Zone.

There are APIs for most developer languages. Look at ActiveXperts SMS and MMS Toolkit
