Sentech apologizes to customers about access problems

The fact that Sentech have issued a statement regarding their networks problem is part of a growing trend towards consumer awareness in the broadband industry.

Previously, many broadband subscribers were left in the dark regarding the status of the service when unable to access the Internet.

It is encouraging to see that broadband providers have come to realize the importance of keeping customers informed.
Would have been good if they had mentioned it to their consumers 2 weeks ago...

Great... can we have an official reply?

To whom it may concern (Sentech billing department)

I would like to apologise for the non payment of my account this month.

I have switched to another bank and this was done so that I could pay all my debit orders without much problem.

Unfortunately due to a slight hardware error (my GPU died, so I had to replace it) there have been sporadic payments made from my bank account.

I would like to inform you that I have been working around the clock to try and rectify the situation...

Hopefully by next month (november) you should receive full payment (although it might be throttled).

Regards

Lets not pay

I agree, I think I am going to cancell my debit order to add to there frustration.

Although all necessary precautions were taken to ensure a smooth changeover, configuration problems as well as hardware failure with the new carrier's equipment, resulted in periodic international internet access downtime, since the cut-over.

What a great start for the new carrier...

Why didn't Sentech inform us before the changeover?
Yeah, it is a much better idea to keep everybody in the dark...
I also wouldn't have wasted my time phoning the "support" desk

Oh the fond memories I have of MyWireless, sitting in a corner of the loft as it was the only place I could get a signal.

NoWire plastic antenna suspended from beam ; renamed "Batenna", while becoming an alcholic from all the whiskey tins bought to built a better antenna.

DIY broadband ..........

Sounds like good times ... I remember moving the modem into the roof with about 20 usb extenders just to get 2 bars. And then ever time some1 walked up the stairs it would DC. Good times.

Does anyone know who the old carrier was (that got the boot!) and who the new carrier was (that doesn't provide redundant links as a minimum)??

The old carrier was British Telkom as far as i know, full time off switch over was approximately 4days!
