He will come in and ask where exactly this is a BEE failure? The article itself says something along the lines of "financial mismanagement and irregular expenditure". Of course in your eyes it involves a black person therefore it further proves your theory that no black person can satisfactorily fill a position.

What you may be satisfied with something but I may not be..
 
No what this proves is that we need better oversight in the parastatals, and this dodging answering direct questions put to them about things like this needs to stopped immediately.

Dlamini should also be forced to repay absolutely every cent of irregular expenditure he approved, plus this auditing firm needs to be brought to book in a big way.

My mouth is left gaping - at how Nyanda can do this again and certainly won't be brought to book for this! :mad:

He (Nyanda) should be thrown out of parliament, as this is the second fscking time that his dipping his fingers into the pie.
But alas, the ANC will protect their comrades and though a bitching may be heard from the opposition, I really don't see anything coming of this on the political arena.

As for the auditors;
How the hell did they suddenly run into power?
This reeks of total kuk and it's got be nipped in the butt!

How and when are we ever going to come right?
Goverment talks about coming down hard on corruption.
But it seems they only act when budgets are either over or underspent; by calling the HOD's before a commission to get a tongue lashing and then for them to be sent on their way.
At times with a severance pay enough to feed a village or they keep their jobs and still get their performance bonuses.

If the ANC is serious about corruption and serving the people of this country, Nyanda MUST GO! And all of his businesses that have been raping our tax money should pay us back and be disbanded!
 
One must remember that all these "top" placements are done by Luthuli House - comrade deployment. This is a failed system.

These folk take up the position with no job description and no ability whatsoever. They are effectively set up to fail with no skills to hold down even the most menial of jobs.

Put another way, would any of these DGs' be able to get a job if they submitted a CV for a top job in the private sector?

Just another day on the farm.

Johannesburg - Ntumba Incorporated, the auditors of a company owned by Communications Minister Siphiwe Nyanda, is at the centre of financial mismanagement and irregular expenditure allegations at Sentech.

Sentech, the loss-making state-owned broadcast signal distributor, also falls under Nyanda's watch.

City Press is in possession of documents that show that auditors Melusi Ntumba and Vhonani Mathebula authorised six payments to the tune of R1.1m to themselves and a board member who hired them. This took place while suspended chief financial officer Mohammed Cassim was still on the parastatal's payroll.

Ntumba Incorporated audits Abalozi, formerly General Nyanda Security Risk Advisory Service.

In a clear breach of the Public Finance Management Act and corporate governance rules, Ntumba and Mathebula authorised payments to Mesuli Dhlamini, a Sentech board member. Dhlamini has been receiving a monthly consulting fee of R150 000 since joining the broadcast signal distributor as a non-executive director in April.

Soon after Dhlamini was appointed chairperson of the Sentech board turnaround subcommittee, he appointed Ntumba Incorporated in May to assist the ailing parastatal with its turnaround strategy at a cost of R300 000 a month for a three-month stint.

It is not clear how consultants who were employed to provide a turnaround strategy acquired executive powers to run Sentech's finance department.

The sad thing is that the young Technicians think Siphiwe Nyanda is a war hero and deserves to be where he is. They are too naive ( add st*p**) to realize it it just another anc fat cat ripping them off.
When they heard about the R1mil wasted on the world cup, they just shrugged their shoulders. So it is obvious to me that the young non-white generation don`t give a stuff what their masters do.. Sad hey!

I read nothing about BEE anywhere, and I don't understand why it's necessary to goad Lancelot. Granted, I don't follow the battles in CA, but seriously: Play the ball not the man.

What I see here is plenty upsetting without trying to drag in an arbitrary discriminant such as skin colour.

We see yet another state official accused of corruption with nothing being done by our president (except to intervene in a labour dispute) who promised a harsh stance on corruption when he entered the office.

And I have to wonder (though this is possibly better suited to the philosophy forum) how many of us would not try to look out for number one given the opportunity to do so?

Thinking back at the numerous times sitting by the braai how people casually drop into conversation how they exploit loopholes in systems for their own benefit... Whether that be something as "small" as exploiting an ISP to get more bandwidth than paid for, trying to circumvent customs when importing something, or making yourself a bunch of money by exploiting "grey areas" in economic systems.

So I wonder, is it okay to be corrupt as long as it's small-time? Or is it about how well-known you are?

Obviously I'm not trying to justify skimming off the top, "tenderpreneuring," or fraud (I'm just waxing philosophical)... If the allegations against Nyanda are true (and the evidence looks convincing) he needs to be locked up, along with all his conniving buddies.

Let's deconstruct this a bit.

Where these auditors appointed before Nyanda became a Minister? Or during Mbeki's reign?

before i attack I always like to have facts ready.

NOTE: The auditors are not owned by Nyanda. They happen to audit one of his companies. If you think the auditors are bad, would the not mostly white SAICA be responsible as well in letting them run an operation?

all i am saying is tha before jumping to conclusions, let the facts be known.

Let me explain, if you were here long enough you would know the reason.
Every time anyone remotely says anything against the ANC, they are deemed to be racist and he almost always plays the man. It is clear the policies of the ANC and the tactics are a complete failure.
BEE/ AA are a joke. This appointment is simple BEE, yes its not private sector but its the same bloody thing.

Colour seems to be the exact issue here as these guys are not appointed on merit thats for sure. They are stealing as much money as possible in order to enrigh themselves. Its no wonder our water, electricity, roads, infrastructure were and still are on the verge of collapse (roads excluded for now, I wait for the rainy season again)
