Sentech prices dropped... When will iBurst

Anyone get that fax from Tradepage roaring on about getting a modem for R599? It was very misleading as I think to get it at that price you have to sign a 12 month contract.

That is still a very good deal, most of the specials from providers require a contract, its the catch. Still sounds worth it for only 12 months if you are sure about iBurst.

Hmm and the extra 500mb isn't bad, not much but no bad either :)

Any the total carry over is also a nice addition.. I only hope this isn't the only change we get for another 2 years :(

Strange how quickly they moved right after Sentech.

True on that Ekh....

I agree with you on the rolling over of data that it is a nice addition - but it doesn't help me.

Not to sound tooo greedy, but 500 megs? I know you can do better iBurst...

But thanx anyway!

speaking of dubious advertising methods... was just on the iburst site and maybe its just me but that "What you can do with a Gig" line makes me laugh every time! 150 000 emails? Can you physically do that?!? and since im on the G3, thats 450 000 emails. talk about bragging rights... 'Hey bob, how many emails can you send a month? huh?"
15 000 a day... 625 an hour.. 10 a minute. Thats some serious communication.

At least now Iburst can set up a new page explaining how many more emails (without attachments) you can send a month using 500mb. :D

I am on the G1 package, so 500MB extra is OK for me. Not great, but certainly better than nothing.
As far as I'm concerned, iBurst's biggest selling point is the 64kbps after cap.
That in itself means that carry-over is pointless for me (and most others, I'll wager).
What I would find really useful is if they increase 64 kbps to 128 kbps.

I know, I'm repeating myself...:p

Too bad Ed isn't active any more, (it seems..) I'd like to know if more is planned soon (like all the plans he was talking about) or if this is really it and not just a reaction.

PDonut, did you read the iBurst press release about this upgrade? They make some pretty untrue claims too. They really try to make everything they do sound pretty amazing, but I guess thats marketing.

I just hope this 500mb is not one of the "exciting" things Ed was talking about.

And lashing out at other wireless providers was a low thing for iBurst to do, and to top it they now have a High Court interdict brought against them for not getting their facts right before shooting off their mouths, hmmm I guess they felt threatened or why else do it.

Luckely I am on a 3Gig Month-to-Month, so at this stage after this, I am leaving iBurst. Seeing that I travel all over, I have to connect to the internet with my cell phone, seeing that iBurst does not cover the whole country.

I do a lot of business in Sabie and have to drive to Nelspruit to do my iBurst connection from there. The same in KwaZulu-Natal. Only in he Durban area do you have connection if you are luckey to find a tower that is not overloaded, but if you leave Durban you have NADA.

So for me it is Goodbye to iBurst. I have waited for a proper offer to surface from iBurst, but with only 500Mb and carry-over, sorry mate, not for me.
