Ok, so sentech have dropped prices and upped speeds, what will iBurst do to stay ahead?

Up speeds?

Increase Cap?

Increase 64kb limit ounce capped?

Reduce pricing?

Come on iburst ball is now in your court to see if you can compete.... Or will you let Sentech take the lead? MTN also has dropped pricing recently.......

/me sits and wonders....

Come on guys, there are a lot of exciting things on the card for this year :)

There has been a lot of exciting things on the cards for the past two years!

Watch this space... (Keep watching)

(I said keep watching, damn it!)

So that makes exciting things happening for the past 3 years.... :)

Did i miss them?

They where so exciting you haven't fully comprehended the greatness of them yet...

Maybe the last exciting thing Ed was talking about before he left was that iBurst secured another R50 million from some bank..

Not so exciting really is it :)

Anyone get that fax from Tradepage roaring on about getting a modem for R599? It was very misleading as I think to get it at that price you have to sign a 12 month contract.

:D

That just about sums it up. It also sums up why I'm starting to look to the beast for ADSL... :( Sad, I used iBurst to sidestep Telkom, now I want to sidestep iBurst.

Don't go the Telkom way ... I was thinking of going back to Telkom, until I had to deal with them!!! They are uncategorically FARKIN USLESS!!!

A couple of questions for iBurst

“Anyone who is upset over iBurst’s calls for the public to be wary of doing business with unlicensed operators, need to answer a simple ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ to each of the following questions:

- Is it true that only certain operators such as iBurst are licensed to build their own public communications networks?
- Is it true that ICASA has warned illegal wireless ISPs that they are potentially committing criminal offences?
- Is it true that customers of illegal wireless ISPs face disconnection as ICASA cracks down on illegal operators?” iBurst said.

“iBurst now considers this matter closed,” the company concluded.

Since iBurst have taken it upon themselves to enforce ICASA rulings, here are a couple of questions for them:

- Is it true that ICASA has ruled that local traffic should not count towards your cap?
- Is it true that ICASA has ruled that IP addresses should not be reset periodically?
- Is it true that ICASA has ruled that a minimum connection speed of 256kbps needs to be achieved before you can call your service "broadband"?

The people that pay for your 'service' every month would love to consider the above matters closed, but iBurst seems to happily ignore them and keep telling us that there are some great things on the horizon. And FYI, your so called value-added services are not a justification for your excessive pricing.

It is all incestuous anyway!! Telkom owns part of Vodacom and Vodacom owns part of iBurst ... where is the anti-competitions board now ...

But ... also having said that ... I still beleive iBurst is the best offering in South Africa at the moment!!

I have been with iburst from the beginning and basic prices have not changed...if i stayed on a 3gb package i would still be paying R599 and since i moved to the 1GB package i have been paying the same for over a year now. Nothing changes or when it does its insignificant or very slow. I hate this place :(

I found the exciting things that iBurst had planned for it's consumers

My 24 month is over already - They mean to tell me I have been waiting +2 years for 500MB? :D Wow... As great as my connection is, I fear their ego's, (or is it arrogance?) are now beginning to outweigh the quality of service I am getting. Mind you... Telkom... Bleh! Ha, I'm caught between a rock and a hard place.

P.S. Carry over is a damn good positive but it has no effect on me... I'll be lucky to carry over 10mb, if I haven't bought an extra gig already.

Hmmm, I think I already answered in your other thread.:p

As for anything exciting and new to be offered from iBurst, well don't hold your breath as we've had so many promises over the past 2 years and nothing of any real interest has changed.

Looks like telscum are going to get some more disgruntled customers soon.

I wont go to Telscum ... I just wont!
Nobody really wants to but if thats the way to get higher speed and a better package for my money then I can live with telscum's adsl, even though I do like the mobility of iBurst it's pointless if the packages stay static and as I already pointed out an extra 500mb is not what I'd call an improvement, it was just put forward to keep us quiet, and if thats their idea of improvement.....they can shove it where the sun don't shine.

As it is I already have 2 phone lines so it should be a fairly quick changeover.

Nice start iBurst.... no where is the rest? Why not give a Gb? half is nothing these days... It's like have half a slice of bread, where is the rest of the sandwich?
