Sentech is going to increase it speeds "up-to 1meg", apparently... and charge you double aswell?

Up to a meg?

Maybe they'll actually increase it to the 128kbps speeds you're supposed to be getting. Take any speed they state and divide it by 7, and that's how fast it really is.

In 2 and a half years of being a customer, I NEVER got above 77kbps, and I had full signal. Most of the time it was slower than a dialup modem by far.

I usually get 28K when I use DC++ (multiple downloads at a time).I'm on the 256k package. But sometimes the speeds are ridiculously slow.

and these supposedly fast speds will be available to what customers? they wont have many left at the rate they are going, considering that they chased so many away to the competition, flushed the classic packages down the loo, peeved everybody off left right and centre and then apply it to the flexi packages which are about as much good as a chocolate frying pan given the lack of bandwidt. Nope sorry Sentech, you have burnt down the stable, chased the carthorse away and shot yourself in both feet.

And now they're raping the chickens.

Sentech is really unreliable but it has its moments - as far as speed goes I actually get over 256kb/s on my 256k account when downloading torrents... :D

Sounds like im pretty lucky hehe

shOrty - it sounds like now that they've only got 3 or 4 customers left, they are actually providing the advertised service.

Don't be so negative.

Of course Sentech will be faster after October - after all they will just have 2 customers left - and after they chase 1 of those 2 away for hogging the bandwidth, the last remaining sentech victim will have the faster speeds !

Unfortunately for those people still using this pityful "service", the speed issues have very little to do with available bandwidth or congestion. You might see an increase in browsing speeds, but everything else will be limited to a whopping 4K, because sentech seem to be too incompitent to fix a very obvious problem with their network. Any traffic that doesn't go through their proxy server (i.e anything that's not port 80) seems to travel down a single 1200 baud hayes modem via Abudabi.

Good luck to you all. Paying for ADSL and actually getting the advertised speed all the time, is something I am still getting used to...best move ever.

aye even if they go 150mbps doesnt help with continuous drops and downtimes.

cancelled today. getting nice fast adsl :)

How in the world will Sentech be able to deliver a 1mb/s connection speed if they can't even stick to their current 256K speeds? They cancelled the MyWi Classic packages some time ago, (mainly because they couldn't fund it anymore), and now they want to increase speeds? Crazy crazy crazy!

Also, if they are going to charge double, no one will go for their service, as they already charge the same as IBurst.
