Sentech Towers

Ah okay, well, I'm lucky to stay on a hill overlooking most everything (can see Randburg from my place in Constantia Kloof, Roodepoort)

Hope you come right dude

BTW, JP from support desk is very helpful as well, you can speak with him too, but I suggest getting a hold of clinton at 6917000 asap, as you're almost on 14 days correct?

gl

tommorow i will be on 7 days

I spoke to the techies, and i wont be billed for the time i am having problems since its not my fault and that i dont mind.

i would have cancelled if they kept denying problems on their side and blamed me for my house having bad signal, but at least they arnt charging me ,so if i dont get signal, i dont pay, which i am happy with.

thanx for the words of encouragement.

They're just different cables, basically; the one end plugs into the jack on the device, and the other end has either a USB connector or an RJ-45 connector. You wouldn't be able to use them simultaneously.

Mal Park is the highest building by the Hypermarket area.
Melkhout Road which should be Milkwood Rd is in Pheonix.
Rockford is by the La Lucia Mall area.
Chartwell is the main shopping center in Umhlanga Rocks, the highest building with the Mercedes sign on it, on top of that building.

ProAsm Thanks for keeping us hopefulls in the picture with whats going on with the roll out. I guess you are getting a bit tired of people asking when they will get coverage, but is their any idea when westville north / Cowies hill area will get a tower. Putting one on top of Cowies would cover most of Westville and pinetown just a suggestion!!

So I guess the area from the Durban University to Malvern will not be covered ? or will the overport tower reach that far?

The Westville/New Germany/Pinetown/Kloof/Cowies Hill area is a very high priority and is next on the list after Capetown.

The Malvern/Queensborough area I cannot comment on but at a guess I'd say not long after the above.

ProAsm thanks for the info can't wait but i guess will just have too!!

where is base station 82? picking up from 82 at work in randburg and the same from home in honeydew ridge...... ???? getting about 18% at work and 20% at home.... and i live like 400m from sentech in honeydew.

lol kbentz, mine also tries to connect to base station #82, apparently when i phoned sentech they said base station #82 doesnt exist [B)].

Dr4k out

whats really great, even though 82 doesnt exist, its signal still manages to reach from my work in randburg, which im typing with now, and my home in honeydew..... ive heard that it might be a secret base station in iraq.... (quite a powerful one)

Where do you guys see this Base Station info when you connect ?

well according to me.... (and im probably wrong.... again) you can only see where you connecting to when you not connected. um. when you move your cursor over your signal strength it tells you what base station its seeing. (i thinks) no choice which one you would like to connect to tho, and once connected there is no indication anymore of where and what you connected to.

<br />Hi guys/gals,

Does anybody know what the Sentech towers look like? i.e. are they all on water towers, or do some have their own masts? Are the cells omni-directional (i.e. have one thin little arial) or are they sectored like GSM sites?

We need to gather some photo-evidence for these towers so they can be identified and plotted (GPS positions please!)

This way, we can draw 5.7km circles around the towers to try and find out what the coverage really looks like.

Any ballpark figures as to when these towers will be installed / online? (if they're not already... how out-of-date is this list now?) I'm specifically interested in the Bryanston one...

I have a customer in Bryanston - but the coverage map shows nothing even *planned* for her area! I can't imagine why Bryanston would be neglected like that.

i live 300m line of sight to sentech honeydew tower (next to their satellite farm). how come im picking up from basestation 82 at only 15% signal strength????? i thought i might have best reception in town? is honeydew up and running yet?
