The zone locator reports "partial" coverage for my stand, and "good" for the stand next-door, but I get no signal at all on the property; can get an extremely weak signal a little outside the gate. Oh well...

I just got my modem today

I am in Jukskei Park (Between Olivedale and Douglasdale).

Sentech webby says i am supposed to have partial coverage while my neighbour across the road has Good coverage.

Walked all over the garden with modem in hand (unplugged), parked it a few spots - no joy :(

Took a drive up to Olivedale hospital with the modem on the seat (I am desperate okay - ADSL is driving me up the wall) and the modem got 2 dots at the garage across the road.

Gonna try the DSTV dish thing today with the notebook (friend has one in the garage) Also gonna see if I can get hold of Poynting to come help my desperate modem!

*update* Poynting insists we buy from FastComm... So now I gotta pay for a connection I can't use? Can't they just stall the contract until we get signal?

Sentech call centre also pointed me to Fastcomm

I wonder if the proposed Bryanston CC tower will help me.

Two clients in Bryanston (on Peter Place) both have excellent signal strenght and they are very happy!

Will get it installed on the notebook tonight and use ProAsm's MySignal all around to see if i can get anything (at least the notebook talks to my PC via 802.11b all over the property!)

I really have no idea.
