With all due respect, what is the purpose of this article? We already know Sentech needs about R1Bn and only receive about R202Mn over the next 3 years. Is this simply to raise awareness of EASSy again in an attempt to keep us complacent until 2008 and in the process gain some points for
The company's participation in the East Africa Submarine System (EASSy)
It would be nice if the media actually reported on new developments. Maintaining awareness has it's value as well, but two articles in the same week about the same thing? Time can be spent more wisely methinks. This will help avoid the frustrating "blah blah, same old, SSDD" responses from readers.
Sentech has had 2 years already to build up a decent user base with decent cash flow income to afford to expand and upgrade their broadband network. I agree 100% with Vlad's opinion.
Plus, if they just listened to the concerned users-group's suggestion and worked closely with them instead of trying to shut them up and make empty promises, they would have been the BEST wireless broadband supplier by now.
The governement wouldn't be stupid enough to risk messing up the 2010 games... That would be so embarassing...!! I think they're just stalling for time!
