Serame Taukobong is MTN’s Chief Marketing Officer.
Taukobong is the former Marketing Director of M-Net.
Taukobong started his highly successful marketing career with Unilever being appointed to the position of Brand Manager, Skip, in less than 2 years.
Having worked on many global projects with the brand, including some South African driven global initiatives, Taukobong sort to apply his multi-national skills to a South African company expanding globally.
South African Breweries was his next point of call and over a 5-year career with SAB he was involved in the strategic brand management of over 8 brands. His successes with SAB include the relaunch of Hansa Pilsner, the launching of AFB's (alcoholic flavoured beverages), the repositioning of Castle Lager, including the ever-popular New York commercials and the expansion of Castle into the rest of Africa and the United Kingdom.
Before joining MTN, Taukobong occupied the position of Marketing Director with the pay TV operator M-Net. In a relatively short period he oversaw the repositioning of the pay TV offering including the introduction of new programming cumulating in the highly successful reality television programme Big Brother - a marketing success in South Africa and the rest of the African continent.
