Serie a 2010/2011

/sigh

Rafa managed the team this season. About half the season in fact. I mean wake up and smell the coffee - there's only so much Leo can do... the point stefan9 was trying to make is that while there will be blips, they are more prominent due to their BAD LEAGUE POSITION WHICH RAFA PUT THEM IN.

Bolded for your convenience.

One more thing - what the hell do transfers have to do with anything? we weren't talking about transfers, we were talking about dropped points... Are you sure you're properly awake yet?

Why did the Inter hierachy even hire Rafa in the first place ? No use pointing continual blame on Rafa.

FACT is Rafa was not given much money to spend when he joined Inter, and perhaps abit unlucky with many injuries to key players.

And yes, dropping points and losing games to poor teams is a rather sad excuse to blame the past manager.

If we count only the trophies that matter, league titles and champions league then they don't compare.

Mourinho: 2 portoguese league's with porto and a cl, 2 premier league titles with chelsea, 2 serie a titles and a cl with inter.

So that makes 8 major titles for mou.

Roberto Mancini: 3 serie a titles with inter.

Mancio has 3 major titles.

Carlo Ancelotti: one serie a title and 2 cl with milan, fa premier league with chelsea.

Carlo 4 major titles.

Guus hiddink: 6 eridivisie titles and a cl with psv.

Guus 7 major titles.

Fabio Capello: 4 serie a titles with milan and a cl. one serie a title with roma.

Don Fabio 6 major titles.

Giovanni Trappatoni: 6 serie a titles and a cl with juve, one serie a with inter, one bundes liga with bayern, one portogues league with benfica.

That makes it 10 major titles for trap.

Alex ferguson: 3 scottish premier leaguea's with aberdeen, 11 premier leagues with man u and 2 champions leagues.

That makes it 16 major titles for ferguson.

Pep guardiola: 2 la liga's and a cl with barca.

The great rafa benitez: 2 la liga's with valencia, one cl with lfc.

This should really make it clear where rafa really ranks, the only ones he is even close to is pep and mancio and they have had very short managerial careers compared to rafa. Rafa's trophy haul only looks good if you include the small trophies. When it comes to the major trophies he is miles behind...

One intangible also not mentioned is most of these others have good relations with their players, the same can't be said about rafa...

Fergie takes the cake. If he had retired with 3 Scottish Premier League titles with Aberdeen, he would have beaten everyone else. I mean three times champion... in Scotland... WITH ABERDEEN!!!!

Are you for real?!?! Rafa was the one who dropped points to schit teams. Udine at home aren't that bad. I mean honestly... Do you even understand what stefan was saying in his OP that you decided to "take down" in the name of all that good and Rafa?

PS: He had a treble winning team. Complaining about no money to fashion his own team is bollocks. Ancelotti wasn't given a king's ransom to overhaul his team and still managed to win the double. Despite all the problems recently, he's said he needs to change things and actually accepted some of the blame (a bit he put down to injuries).

Inter had just come off winning a Treble, how much money should he have been given to add to the squad?

Bow down to the greatness!

If you hire a new manager, one should realise he will come with his own management style , together with new signings and getting rid of dead wood.

Mo and Fergie always got the players they wanted.

They have good transfer records, rafa doesn't.

Rafa signed 66 players during his time at lfc. In comparison inter as a whole signed 33 players in the same period under mancio and mou.

Benitez has no clue in the transfer market. You would have to be crazy to trust him with.

He had a squad good enough to achieve results but failed since his man management is poor.

As materrazi said a policeman can't drive an f1 car...;)

Eto'o has also in recent days confirmed the squad didn't get on with him, in fact hinted rafa lost the trust due to an incident that happended before the european super cup but wouldn't go into details. He claims he is one of the few who didn't mind benitez.

Of course they will come with their own management style. Scolari came with his own management style and complaint about not being backed in the transfer market and he did... nothing. He was a total failure. Hiddink came in with his own style, by tweaking Mourinho's style. Ancelotti came in with his own style, by modifying Hiddink's. You can't just walk into a club and change everything. It has to be gradual (unless a huge shake up is desperately needed, yes, I'm looking at you Liverpool).

BTW: What dead wood would you have cut, seeing as you are so vocal on this point?

Dead wood will be the lazy SOB's who miss training and who think they are bigger than the club. Also refers to players that cant work with any new manager.Let them go.........

True, but let's not pretend Rafa had a good record in the tranfer market. In any case, I don't think the transfers at Inter were up to Rafa at all, or even Mourinho when he was there. In his first season, Mou only brought in Muntari, Mancini and Quaresma, which is really only two signings anyway.

Mo and Fergie always got the players they wanted.

Fergie after proving himself and Mou as well.

Mourinho was a new manager. They won the League and an Italian Super Cup.

Well Mo is already getting pi$$ed by the hierachy at Madrid. No guarantee he is going to stay at Madrid come next season.

Any new manager?? Most of the squad had no issue working with mancio and mou and don't seem to have any issues working for leo. The common denominator is clearly a certain fellow called rafa...

As for missing training none of mario, adriano or arnautovic ever trained under rafa so I doudt he had those issues...

Dude there's no use arguing with a Rafa lover... his turn every argument and Rafa's failings on Liverpool owners :D

FYI Mou has no intention of staying at RM for long... he just want that Spanish title and then to replace SAF @ United :D

Great comeback win vs palermo. Went 2-0 down after santon decided to give them ahead start with some dreadfull defending.

Pazzini scored 2 goals from the bench and "won" a pen which eto'o convered. Was a soft pen but I will take it. Fantastic performance on debut.

We beat bari 3-0 but the scoreline is very flattering. Could have been a very different game if the ref had seen chivu's melo moment. Should have been send of for that punch, will now get a 3 game ban. Good to see wes back and him scoring the third.

3rd place! Props to Leo! Where were you on the log when Rafa was sacked?

Happy we won but not happy with conceding 3 goals. Eto'o and sneijder huge. Interesting that leo has won more serie a games in little over a month then rafa managed in half a season.

With milan drawing away to genoa gap is now 5 with us having a game in hand and the second derby to come.
