For those interested rai international will show the italian super cup between inter and roma on saturday at 20:30. Rai will show all serie a games this season, should be the usual 4 a weekend. No games on super sport this season.

Will give my predictions for the season when the mercato closes. Side that is doing the best in the market so far is genoa imho. But we still have the best squad by some margin.

Going to be interesting to see how rafa goes.

Inter squad for the super coppa: Motta is out injured and santon isn't match fit yet. The others who were left out are players the club wants to get rid of before 31 August.

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar 1, Luca Castellazzi 12, 21 Paul Orlandoni;

Defenders: 2 Ivan Cordoba, 4 Javier Zanetti, 6 Lucius, 13 Maicon, 23 Marco Materazzi, 25 Walter Samuel, 26 Cristian Chivu;

Midfielders: 5 Dejan Stankovic, 10 Wesley Sneijder, 17 Mariga, 19 Esteban Cambiasso, 20 Joel Obi, 29 Coutinho;

Forwards: Samuel Eto'o 9, 22 Diego Milito, 27 Goran Pandev, 88 Ludovic Biabiany.

Expected lineups:

INTER (4-2-3-1): 1 Julio Cesar, Maicon 13, 6 Luciu, 25 Samuel, 4 Zanetti, 5 Stankovic, 19 Cambiasso, Pandev 27, Sneijder 10, 9 Eto'o, Milito 22. (12 Castellazzi, 2 Cordoba, 23 Materazzi, 26 Chivu, 17 Mariga, 29 Coutinho, 88 Biabiany). All: Benitez

ROMA (4-3-1-2): 1 Lobont, 77 drawers, 5 Mexes, 4 Juan, 17 Riise, De Rossi 16, 7 Pizarro, 20 Perrotta, 94 Menez, 10 Totti, Vucinic 9. (32 Doni, 87 Rosi, G. 25 Burdisso, 33 Bright, 30 Simplicio, 11 Taddei, 8 Adriano). All: Ranieri

Good win by the boys. Well done to rafa on his first official game. We dominated the game but lacked finishing in the first half and roma did well to take their chance. Roma let us back in with very sloppy play for our first goal. We can improve but its a good start.

Games for this weekend. Saturday 18:00 Udinese vs Genoa and 20:45 Roma vs Cesna. Sunday 18:00 Bari vs Juve and 20:45 Fiorentina vs Napoli. Monday 20:45 Bologna vs Inter. All games on rai international channel 430.

Can't wait for the season to start.

Goal.comedy: Top 10 Things To Expect In Italy This Season

4) Rafa Benitez outdoes Diego Maradona by using 103 Inter players during the course of the campaign. The only ones to start every single game are Dirk Kuyt and Lucas Leiva, signed from Liverpool on deadline day for a combined €40 million.

1) Italian teams are robbed in Europe for the umpteenth year on the trot. Roma are eliminated by Bayern Munich after Miroslav Klose scores a winner despite being 20 yards offside, and Mark Van Bommel stays on the pitch despite breaking five Giallorossi legs. Inter are defeated by Manchester United after the referee executes ‘Until We Score Law’ and adds on 72 minutes of injury time during which The Red Devils score the two goals they require to progress. Meanwhile, Milan are ousted after UEFA create a new rule that bans teams with an average age of over 40 from participating.

Serie A is so boring and the quality on show is not up to standard anymore.Ive been a big fan of serie a over the years but its now the 4th best league in europe.The Bungelisa has taken the 3rd spot from serie a.Supersport has replaced serie with the french and german leagues this season.Both Juve and Milan has very poor squads and this is having an impact on the quality of the league.Only Inter have a world class squad.Also the whole presentation of Serie A is poor , from the Stadium attendences to the quality of the pitches to the english commetry etc its not up their anymore.Ive noticed the Bungelisa have fanastic stadia with excellent attendences.

SS decision was a purely financial one. They could only get the rights for serie a in south africa so they decided it wasn't worth it if they can't get coverage for the whole africa.

Interesting thing about bundes liga overtaking serie a in the coefficients they have done it throught uefa's decision to let uefa cup/europa league count the exact same points as champions league. Over the past 5 seasons serie a has done better in the cl but the german clubs have done a lot better in the smaller comp.

The bundes league will stay in the top 3 for a while but watch out that serie a doesn't overtake la liga in the next 5 seasons. La liga has the top 2 but serie a's dept is better.

The stadium and english pitches are a problem and needs to be addressed. Don't really see the commentry as an issue, personally don't care for what some other guy has to say about the game...

Juve's got a good team this season bar the fact their right wing needs replacement...

Krasic will play on the right with martinez/pepe on the left.

They have also sold diego to wolfsburg and are close to sealing a deal for burdisso. Juve have a good squad but a lot of their new buys are unproven at big clubs. Its really very open for me from 2-8 in the table. But I think juve will get back into the cl spots.

Hopefully not - the last thing we need is a resurgent Juve. fsckers.

:erm:

They bought Milos Krasic... now they need to replace him? :wtf:

lol forgot the deal went through :D my bad :p

i'm just tried of seeing Cameronasi!!!!

PEPE is awe! He'll take nedved's posi with ease!

Good start for genoa away to udinese. Roma were poor drawing to a side that will probably get relegated.

The insane ways of serie a presidents continue. Bologna have sacked their manager before an official game this season and just a day before they play us. Colombo was sacked because he was skeptical about the squad.

Official: 'Sceptical' Colomba sacked
Sunday 29 August, 2010
Bologna have officially sacked Franco Colomba because “he was sceptical about the squad. The new Coach will be unveiled on Wednesday.”

The rumours started swirling around last night and in an afternoon Press conference owner Sergio Porcedda confirmed he was firing Colomba.

The decision comes just over 24 hours before the team welcome Inter to the Stadio Dall’Ara in their season opener.

“What I can say for certain is that on Wednesday you’ll know the name of the new Coach,” assured Porcedda.

Youth team tactician Paolo Magnani will be on the bench for the Monday night Serie A match.

“Colomba was fired primarily because he was sceptical about the squad. The decision was made by me and on a personal level I do feel sorry for him. I slept badly last night.”

The favourite to take over had been Mario Beretta, but during the Press conference Porcedda ruled him out.

Other options are Alberto Malesani, ex-Lazio boss Davide Ballardini and former West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola.

Despite the fact the decision had already been made, Colomba still oversaw this morning’s training session.

“It is the club’s decision, that is all,” commented the ex-Coach as he left the ground.

“Now they will do the talking, then I will in my own time.”

Colomba had only been hired on October 20 2009 in order to replace Giuseppe Papadopulo and helped Bologna to avoid relegation.

Star striker Marco Di Vaio also seemed perturbed when leaving the training session and fans asked what was happening.

“Don’t ask me, I’m not in charge,” he muttered.

New manager,new players still same juve from last season. Bari wins 1-0 and could have won by a bigger margin.
