Serie a 2010/2011

Good win by us today. Not a great performance but udinese is our bogey side so I will take 3 points everytime against them.

Great result by milan and ibra...Roma also not doing very well.

If he continues his stellar form, he'll definitely get that transfer they've setup... :p

Juve fans will be happy the scored 3 but will not be happy with the defence.

Good to see young destro score in the first 6 minutes of his serie a debut for genoa. Those who don't know mattia destro is a young striker from the inter youth system on loan at genoa. Too bad the genoa defence turned invisible once ranocchia(another inter owned player) went of injured.

Chievo top of the table for now.

Serie a tv fixtures for this weekend:

Saturday 18:00 Fiorentina vs lazio and 20:45 Milan vs Catania. Sunday 15:00 Palermo vs Inter and 20:45 Sampdoria vs Napoli.

All on rai. The sunday 12:30 Bari vs cagliari game should also be shown but no confirmation yet from the webstie.

Good win for lazio away to fiorentina. Milan drop points again. Maybe ibra should stop telling arrigo sacchi to shut up and instead concentrate on his football??

Good for juve. Very good win for us in sicily vs palermo, palermo didn't lose at home at all last season. Roma draw after being 2-0 ahead vs bologna.

Lazio vs milan tomorrow at 20:45 and juve vs palermo at 20:45 thursday on rai.

Strike has been posponed and games this weekend will go ahead, the players now plan to striker jan 6. Bunch of girls if you ask me...

For not striking?

For threatening to strike in the first place...These are their reasons: If you look at those reasons the only one that is reasonable imho is the last one. Also bear in mind its only the millionaire serie a players threatening with the strike not the lower leaguea's...

Reasons behind players' strike
Saturday 11 September, 2010
Lega Calcio chief Mario Beretta blasted “a terrible message to those with economic problems,” as we explain the reasons behind the players’ strike.
The AIC (Players’ Association) announced yesterday that it would go on strike for the weekend of September 25-26.

It is a protest against the failure to renegotiate the collective bargaining contract that expires later this year.

“This is truly an extreme gesture and a very grave attitude that risks backfiring,” warned Lega Calcio Serie A President Beretta.

“The idea of sitting down to the negotiating table with a loaded pistol is not the best way to reach an agreement.

“We’re talking about 500-600 people with average salaries of €1.5m. It’s a terrible message to those in the lower levels of Italian football who are facing genuinely serious economic problems.”

The Gazzetta dello Sport gave a rundown of the eight main reasons behind the strike.

Firstly there is the contract, as the Lega wants it to be flexible with a large portion tied to results. The AIC insist 50 per cent must be fixed.

There is a matter of exclusivity, as the AIC want players to be free to decide what other work to do outside of the normal football hours. In essence, this is tied to image rights and advertising.

The Lega Calcio is asking for strict codes of conduct and ethics, both on and off the field, while the AIC insist on absolute freedom in their spare time.

Medical treatment is another bone of contention. The AIC want players to choose their own specialists and force clubs to foot the bill, whereas the clubs would prefer using only their trusted medical staff.

Sanctions for breaking the terms of the contract are currently decided on a case-by-case basis by the sporting courts, but the Lega is pushing for fixed penalties.

The Lega is eager to reform the refereeing situation by appointing a President who is not already involved in football.

The AIC is demanding that a squad train as one group, whereas the Lega wish for Coaches to make their own decisions on training in several separate groups if needed.

This last point is a reaction to the Goran Pandev case, as he was able to terminate his contract with Lazio when proving he trained separately from the main squad, therefore ‘barred’ from doing his work.

Finally, the problem that has arisen a great deal over the summer is that of refusing transfers.

The Lega Calcio demand that a player cannot turn down a transfer to a club of equal standing and with the same salary. If he refuses, he can terminate his contract and be free to sign for who he wants, but only after handing 50 per cent of the income to the club.

Among those players who infuriated clubs by refusing transfers this summer were Fabio Grosso of Juventus, Roma's Julio Baptista and Anthony Vanden Borre at Genoa.

Good 4-0 win for us vs bari. Good to see milito score. Very sill defending on the two penalties from bari. We were in control for the whole game bar the first 20 seconds when bari hit the post.

Milan grab another draw. Roma lose again and chievo upset napoli in naples. Cesena also lose. So Inter top all alone. Lets see what juve does tomorrow.

I like Eto, hope he scores lots of goals in the Uefa because he's on my fantasy team.

Well you must be one happy chappy ;)

Ofcourse. You don't enjoy when man utd and arsenal lose??;)

Serie a live games on rai for the weekend: Saturday 18:00 Milan vs Genoa and 20:45 Roma vs Inter. Sunday 12:30 Cesena vs Napoli, 15:00 Chievo vs Lazio and 20:45 Cagliari vs Juve.

As good as the midweek round was. This one was dreadfull for us. Very poor vs roma, nothing seemed to work and then we concede the winner in the 91 st minute. Good wins for milan and juve as well.

Do you still believe Rafa is the right man for Inter?

Do you still believe Rafa is the right man for Inter?

Do you think there was anyone better and available the last summer?? Of those he was the best available. Yes I am still confident he will win serie a, the cl we will see. He wasn't my first choice but once I saw none of hiddink, capello or blanc were available he was the best choice.

His record is exactaly the same as mou's in his first season at inter at the same point. 3 wins, one lose and one. So its all doom and gloom as some press wants to portray. The difference is the press love mou so they paint everything as great but rafa is disliked so after every loss its the end of the world.

So far he has actually impressed me.

Serie a tv listings for the weekend: saturday 18:00 udinese vs cesena and 20:45 Parma vs Milan. Sunday 12:30 Lecce vs Catania, 15:00 Napoli vs Roma and 20:45 Derby d'italia Inter vs juve.

Pretty even game. Both inter and juve will feel they could have won the game. Maicon and milito missed sitters in the second half. Iaquinta missed a sitter and had a tight one disallowed for offside.

Krasic caused us big problems in the first half but was shut down in the second half when rafa subbed cordoba and switch chivu to cb with santon coming on as lb. Was a great performance from santon. Hopefully he is now over his injury problems and can start games again.

Both sides will be ok with the result but still regret they didn't get more. Good weekend for milan and lazio.
