Good start from milan nice 4-0 win.
+1
Though I reckon the defence will get torn to shreds against stronger opposition...

Juventus need to totally restructure that side.
Marco Storari
Paolo De Ceglie
Claudio Marchisio
Simone Pepe
Del Piero ( Too old )
These players are not up to the Juve standard.Compared with the side of the mid 90s this team is a joke. When the 2 biggest teams in Italy Milan and Juve have such poor squads i seriously worry for the future of Italian football.I see more and more italians leaving and going to Russia , Germany , Spain and England.
Who is Mariga replacing? I don't recall him being used all that much last year... for that matter, how did Pandev play? I see on Goal.com he's the Flop of the Match.
Motta is injured at the moment. From the atletico game he replaced stankovic. Muntari is also totally left out of the squad while last season mou prefered him on quite a few occasions ahead of mariga, don't know why mariga is much better player imho.
I think they are hard on pandev. All 3 of milito, pandev and chivu were equally bad. So you can take your pick.
/note: I know he's not in the Serie A, but he's Italian so where better?
Philippe Coutinho
Date of birth: June 12, 1992
Club: Inter
Height: 1.72m Weight: 72kg
Nationality: Brazilian
Position: Midfielder
Physical attributes...
Philippe Coutinho Correia, to give him his full name, is an exciting, attacking midfielder who can pass and shoot equally as well with both feet. At five feet seven inches small he may not be the biggest player but what he lacks in stature he certainly makes up for in heart. Yet the former Vasco da Gama teenager’s height has several advantages as he is blessed with a low centre of gravity, which apart from affording him a supreme balance also allows him to turn on a ten-lira coin.
Technical attributes...
A typical Brazilian playmaker, in that he can deliver deadly balls, loves to pass his man and with the ball at his feet likes to thrill fans with various tricks. He has vision, movement, close control and possesses a tremendous shot, which he ably demonstrated when he scored his first Nerazzurri goal on Inter’s tour of the US this summer. Coming on as a sub in the game against Panathinaikos, he struck home a powerful volley that absolutely flew into the net. In many ways he recalls a young Wesley Sneijder, his immediate rival in the Nerazzurri first team, while for others he is the new Lionel Messi. Yet despite all the hype there is no doubting the kid’s ability to electrify fans.
Tactical attributes...
Of course he is still only 18 and has a lot to learn but he has already been called up into the national squad. Playing alongside some of Brazil’s and Inter’s experienced footballers can only benefit him in the long run. He can play anywhere in the midfield but says he feels his best position is just behind two strikers, where he played for Vasco.
Character...
Like many young South Americans he is utterly fearless and totally uncompromising, considering his slight physique. He sees himself extremely lucky to be playing alongside national heroes like Julio Cesar, Douglas Maicon and Lucio – legends he could only have dreamed about playing with when watching them on TV not too long ago. He admits he is a quiet person who doesn’t like to go out much, preferring to stay at home with his family, his friends and girlfriend.
Market valuation...
Philippe actually cost Inter £3m in 2008, but because of FIFA rules concerning players under 16 he stayed on loan with Vasco da Gama until this summer. Since his move he has been called up into the full Brazilian squad. With the departure of Mario Balotelli for £23m to Manchester City, Inter President Moratti has been quoted as saying that the sale of Balotelli isn’t a problem for Inter because they have other young talents like Coutinho. So what does that make the youngster worth? Who knows at this time?
The Inter Milan team that won the Champions League last season did not field a single Italian in the starting line-up in the final against Bayern Munich.
Do Inter also get grilled about this? I'm just curious...
The club was founded on 9 March 1908 as Football Club Internazionale Milano, following a "schism" from the Milan Cricket and Football Club (43 members). A group of Italians and Swiss (Giorgio Muggiani, a painter who also designed the club's logo, Bossard, Lana, Bertoloni, De Olma, Enrico Hintermann, Arturo Hintermann, Carlo Hintermann, Pietro Dell'Oro, Hugo and Hans Rietmann, Voelkel, Maner, Wipf, and Carlo Ardussi) were unhappy about the domination of Italians in the AC Milan team, and broke away from them, leading to the creation of Internazionale. From the beginning, the club was open to foreign players and thus lived up to its founding name.
Oh, by the way stefan9, you reckon this side will be remembered more fondly than the Grande Inter of the 60's with Herrera?
Hahaha... Oh yes they do... And now with Balotelli gone...
@ stefan9: Any thoughts on this
Interesting stat. I'm an Arsenal fan and always read about them not having any English players in the team blah blah blah.

More fondly is very difficult. Herrera's inter won the champions cup twice in a row. They will be mentioned allongside them. Also mou's great side was only under the same manager for two seasons. Herrera was more long lasting. Very difficult to judge. Both sides were similiar in that they prefered a counter attacking style.
Yeah - but I meant more in the libne of the generation... ie '05 - 10/11/12 (or as long as they keep winning scudetto and other stuff). Not just the managers ofcourse![]()
