So I have this Pavilion dv6-6077ei, I bought it at incredible connection 7 months ago, sent it in for repairs because the HDD became faulty... (This is a story for another day, I still have big beef stakes to clear out with the repair company.)

So anyway I have the laptop, and it seems to be very slow, when opening programs. When I open a office program and type something it has a late response, like I will type a sentence and then 10 seconds later, everything just appears late. This also happens when I click on tabs, drop down menus, start menu, arrows... Everything just seems to have a late response..

Please if anybody could help me I'd very much appreciate it.

Thank you
=(

Check your powersupply. I had the same thing with an HP that I bought on bidorbuy, which came with an aftermarket brick.

Running on battery was full speed, running plugged in was useless.

Sorry... I'm just a bit frustrated that a R15 000 laptop is starting to fall apart... I saved up that money to buy a proper laptop now it seems as though this was the most stupidest investment ever

What if I run CCleaner? Is it safe to use that program

Do you still have the same amount of ram in the machine as before? Just a thought...

Other than that, is the HDD the same speed as the original one, and if they did a full re-install are the video drivers up to date?

Task manager, check your processes, anything hogging up CPU or Memory?

Did you try unplugging it and running on battery?

I did not try toe run without the brick yet, I got this cable with the computer but it also does the same when only on the battery, it seems to have the same amount of 8gb ram, cpu and memory seems fine, I'm not running programs that are too demanding and the temp of the laptop is like 69 degrees(high). Is this normal

1)Is these specs correct? http://www.incredible.co.za/ProductDescription.aspx?sku=76724
2)Your hard drive ain't full?
3)try disable whatever anti virus is installed
4) check your GPU drivers are up to date http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Thank you for the help.

1) Yes I thoroughly checked the HDD
2) There is nothing on the HDD except for HPs factory settings, the only thing I loaded was Ccleaner and CPUID
3) I have Norton installed, I suspected that norton might influence it.
4)I do not have the Internet on the laptop, but it is in its factory settings, the first time I used this laptop it was super fast... Now its slow

Install Microsoft Security Essentials

( Side joke: do you walk around with a condom on all day or only when you stick jimmy in strange places? )

Is MSE a good Protection program?

LOLOLIOLLLLOOOOLLL! That was awesome,

Your only needing to do so to see if its the problem - disable it then see if what your problems were are still there or not.
Have you subscribed to Norton or is it the free trial?
If its the free trial & you don't intend subscribing just uninstall it & replace with MSE.

Norton is a virus :p

MSE FTW!

dude frankly i would just format the thing and reload, possibly also do a harddrive test and check all drivers are loaded and up to date
